Sunny Studio Stamps • Spring Release • Staggered Circle

31.01.2019

Hi peeps,

it's Thursday again and time for another inspiration card over on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog. Today I'm showcasing the fabulous Staggered Circle Dies. I couldn't resist creating another card with the cute Love Monkey Stamps.

With this fun die you can create up to 5 circle windows across your card. I did some partial die cutting on a piece of grey cardstock to cut out 4 circles. My card is more narrow than an usual A2 card and measures 4 1/16 x 6 5/16 inch. I love that there is the stitching detail on both sides of the cut line. That's why I also die cut some circles from the new Spring Release paper packs and inlaid them into the window openings.

I scattered the sentiments from the Love Monkey Stamps set all over my card and white heat embossed them. Next, I stamped the monkeys, bananas and flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out and adhered them with foam tape. To finish off my card, I added Doodlebug Tiny Heart Sprinkles in matching colors.

Sunny Studio Stamps • Spring Release • Chubby Bunny

24.01.2019

Hello everyone,

I'm back again on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog with a new card showcasing the adorable Chubby Bunny Stamps. I just love their cute little faces!

At first, I created an A2 landscape top-folding card base from white cardstock. I used the Window Trio Square Dies to cut three openings into a panel of lilac cardstock (MFT «Grapesicle»). I also chose a stitched scalloped die (MFT «Stitched Scallop Basic Edges» Die-namics) to create a decorative border.

Next, I took a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock and marked where the windows would be with a pencil. I did some light handed ink blending with Distress Oxide Inks (Spun Sugar, Milled Lavender, Tumbled Glass). I picked one of the purple Gingham Pastels 6x6 Papers, cut it to size and adhered it at the bottom of my card base and popped up the window panel with foam tape.

I stamped the bunnies, sentiment banner and a little flower in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers (colors listed below). I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out and adhered them with foam squares.

Copic colors used
Aqua: BG10, BG11, BG32, BG45
Green: G40, YG11, YG13
Grey: C00, C0, C1, C3
Pink: RV10, RV02, RV55
Purple: V000, V01, V12, V15

Thank you so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Hello Bluebird • Yeti or Not • Yeti Hugs

21.01.2019

Hi crafty friends,

today I'm back with a card using one of the cuties from the Hello Bluebird  Yeti or Not stamp set which of course isn't only for Christmas. I created a simple love themed card and combined this little guy with a gorgeous patterned paper from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio «More Than Words» 6x6 paper pack.

To match the pretty pastel color scheme, I did some ink blending with Distress Oxides (Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Milled Lavender). I watered down the Worn Lipstick and added some ink splatters with a paint brush. Next, I used the MFT «Pierced Heart STAX» Die-namics to cut out a big heart which I adhered with foam tape letting it slightly hang over the left edge of the card.

For a change, I stamped the image in Memento «London Fog» ink (thought the grey would go better with the soft colors). I colored the yeti with Copics and used the coordinating die to cut him out.

I white heat embossed the sentiment on grey cardstock and used again one of the
«Pierced Heart STAX» Die-namics to die cut a smaller heart. The yeti and sentiment heart were adhered with foam tape. To finish the card, I added two Doodlebug Tiny Heart Sprinkles.

Sunny Studio Stamps • Spring Release • Love Monkey

17.01.2019

Hi everyone,

you probably know that I love critter stamps and the cuties from the new Sunny Studio Stamps Love Monkey set have stolen my heart. With Valentine's Day coming up, I decided to create a love themed card.

I started with an A2 card base cut from blush pink cardstock. Next, I picked some patterned papers in nice coral tones. One is from the Gingham Pastels 6x6 Paper pack and the other from the Flirty Flowers 6x6 Paper pack. I really like how you can mix and match them. I cut the gingham paper slightly smaller than A2 and directly adhered it to the card base.

I wanted the monkeys to sit in a circle window and created it by mounting the floral paper on a piece of fun foam and die cutting a circle. I also die cut one of the Fancy Frames Circle Dies from cardstock and put it on top of the circle opening as an decorative accent.

Now, I stamped the monkey couple as well as the heart balloons from another image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers (colors listed below). I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out and glued the balloon strings behind the tails of the monkeys.

I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark Ink on a black cardstock banner and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Finally, I popped up the monkeys with foam tape and added three die cut hearts next to the sentiment banner.

Copic colors used
Monkeys: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20
E70, E71, E74, E77, E79
Balloons/bow: R000, R20, R21, R22, R24, R27

Thank you so much for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

Sunny Studio Stamps • Spring Release • Over The Rainbow

10.01.2019

Hi peeps,

today, I'm sharing my very first post as a Creative Team member over at the Sunny Studio Stamps blog. I'm so excited!

The new Spring Release went live a couple of days ago and I'm showcasing the Over The Rainbow Stamps. This 3x4 stamp set comes with a ton of fun sentiments and many options to combine them with the word "rainbow".

On my card I also used the new Rainbow Word Die to build the sentiment. I white heat embossed two of the sentiments on strips of black cardstock. I die cut the word "rainbow" four times – 3 from regular white cardstock and one from Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock which I colored with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens in rainbow order before die cutting. I stacked them together and clear embossed the die cut for a glossy finish.

To go on with the rainbow theme, I picked the pretty striped paper from the Spring Sunburst 6x6 Paper pack and adhered it to my card base. Next, I used the Sunburst Embossing Folder and did some ink blending with Distress Oxide Inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey) to make it a bright shining sun. I cut the Frilly Frames Lattice Dies from white cardstock (without the lattice insert) and created a scalloped stitched frame by also die cutting a rectangle from the center.

I assembled the card and adhered the rainbow word at an angle. The dot over the "i" was made with Nuvo Red Berry Crystal Drops so I would not have to glue together all the tiny die cut dots ;-)

As a little bonus, I created a second card using the Inlaid Die Cutting technique that came to my mind when I saw the previously released Fancy Frames Circle Dies.

First, I die cut the stitched scalloped circles and heart from the Dots & Stripes Pastels 6x6 Paper and the parts in between from white cardstock. Next, I die cut a white cardstock circle (as big as the biggest blue circle) with a layer of Ken Oliver Stick it on top. It's like doing a puzzle when inlaying the die cuts.

I adhered the rainbow circle a bit off to the right side of my white card base and trimmed the excess with my paper cutter. Finally, I heat embossed another Over The Rainbow sentiment in silver and cut the Rainbow Word Die from black glitter cardstock.

Hello Bluebird • Merry Pigs • New Year's Card

08.01.2019

Hello crafty friends,

it's not too late to wish someone a Happy New Year ;-) So I created this card using one of the adorable Merry Pigs again.

I colored the pig with Copics and cut it out with the companion dies. I love that it cuts a slit around the arm so you can tuck something in like I did with the die cut heart. Next, I masked the top right corner of a panel of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and did some faded ink blending with the Distress Oxide Inks «Mowed Lawn» and «Twisted Citron». You can't see it well on the photo but I also partly clear embossed the My Favorite Things «Balloon Strings» background over it.

I cut out the «2019» using the Charlie Numbers Die and lilac glitter cardstock. I adhered the numbers and stamped the sentiment from the North Star set underneath. In addition, I heat embossed a couple of small stars around the sentiment. Finally, I popped up the little piggy with foam tape.

DT Stempelgarten Challenge January

Hello everyone,

today starts the first Stempelgarten Challenge of the year and the new theme is «Winter».

http://stempelgartenchallenge.blogspot.ch/

I immediately fell in love with the adorable Birdie Brown «Ready, Set, Snow» stamp set by My Favorite Things.

I colored the cute snowboarding penguin and the trees with Copics and fussy cut them out. Next, I blended together the two Distress Oxide Inks «Tumbled Glass» and «Shaded Lilac». I white heat embossed an old All Night Media «Splatter Pattern» background to create the falling snow.

I die cut the background using one of the MFT «Stitched Circle STAX» Die-namics. For the snow slopes, I cut the MFT «Hit the Slopes» Die-namics two times from white cardstock and used the stitched circle die again. I heat embossed the sentiment directly onto my top-folding card base using silver embossing powder.

You will have time until January 31st, 2019 to join the Stempelgarten Challenge and this is the prize you could win:

A craft package from the Stempelgarten Online Shop with a value of CHF 20.–.

I'm entering the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge with the theme «Something New» (in my case the stamp set).

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello Bluebird • North Star • Happy New Year!

01.01.2019

Hello sweet friends,

I'm wishing you all a Happy New Year full of love, health, joy, friendships and creativity!

I love this beautiful, encouraging quote by the genius Stephen Hawking which goes well with the card I'm sharing today:

"Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet.
Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about
what makes the universe exist. Be curious.
And however difficult life may seem,
there is always something you can do and succeed at.

It matters that you don't just give up."

So this polar bear from the North Star set is looking at the stars spotting a gorgeous Happy New Year constellation.

I created a fun ink smooshed night sky background. Therefore, I squished the Distress Oxide Ink pads «Wilted Violet», «Hickery Smoke» and «Black Soot» on my craft mat and sprayed them with water. Then I took a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock and pressed it into the ink puddles. Before adding each new layer, I dried the panel with my heat gun. I repeated the process until I was happy with the result. I also added some small random ink splatters with a paint brush. Besides ink blending, the smooshing technique is another great use of my beloved Distress Oxides.

When everything was completely dry, I stamped and white heat embossed the «Happy New Year». I die cut the panel with one of the My Favorite Things «A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX 2» Die-namics and adhered it to a «Steel Grey» card base.

I colored the polar bear with Cool Grey Copics, used the companion die and adhered him with foam tape. To finish off my card, I added little star sequins around the sentiment.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a fabulous start to the new year!
