DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #57

15.09.2017

Happy Friday everyone,

today starts a new challenge over at the bastel-traum.ch Blog and we have a Recipe/Tic Tac Toe chart for you.
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
Feel free to pick any three themes in a row (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) to create your project.

This challenge will run until October 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

For my Hello Baby card, I chose the upper horizontal row: Polka Dots • Ribbon • Embossing.

I stamped the cute teepee tent from the Stampin' Up! «Little One» set in «Night of Navy» ink and fussy cut it with scissors. For the white background panel, I used the SU «Large Polka Dot» embossing folder. The patterned papers, which I cut with MFT stitched dies, are by SU, Studio Calico and Create A Smile.

The simple «Hello» sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and I heat embossed it with Ranger «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder. I also die cut the word «baby» (still one of my favorite Simon Says Stamp dies) three times from navy cardstock. After stacking the die cuts on top of each other, I clear heat embossed it two times to give it a glossy finish.

I tied a bow with some May Arts natural jute string (OK, in fact, that's not really a ribbon *tee-hee*) before adhering the whole design to my navy card base. To finish off the card, I added three wood veneer stars by Studio Calico.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT Make it Crafty CAS Inspiration | Friend Chipboard

16.09.2016

Hello everyone,

I made a new inspiration card using one of the fabulous Make it Crafty Single Word Chipboards.

For the first time I painted a galaxy sky using my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens. Love their vibrancy and how well they blend together. After everything was completely dry, I splattered white paint with a brush to mimic lots of stars.

To make the Friend Brush Script Word Chipboard (size: 3 inches) pop against the background, I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I stamped a sentiment from Studio Calico in VersaMark and heat embossed it in white, too.

Then I picked the Mini Stars Chipboard Tinklings in three different sizes and covered them with silver embossing powder. I used the Stampin' Up! «Sparkle» embossing folder to add some texture to my white cardstock panel and adhered it to a black top-folding card base.

Hope you will try these fun Make it Crafty Chipboards, too! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Studio Calico Merry Christmas Penguin

14.09.2016

Hi peeps,

it's never to early for Christmas cards, right?

Made this CAS design with the fun Studio Calico «Merry and Bright» stamp set.

I stamped the cute penguin and the hat in black and did some Copic coloring. I fussy cut both and added some tiny dots to his scarf with a white gelly roll pen. I went with non-traditional colors for this card and stamped the sentiment with Simon Says Stamp Dye Inks. I cut the panel with the largest SSS «Stitched Rectangle» die and put it onto a teal card base. Finally, I adhered the penguin on top of the «merry» using foam tape and added a little red die-cut heart.

I'm entering the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge with the theme «Stamp It».

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Floral Thinking Of You Card

21.06.2016

Hello everyone,

now and then you create a sympathy card for someone who has lost a beloved person. And sometimes you gonna make a card for someone who's still in grief about this loss. Because mourning takes time and everyone is different. So, I like the idea of sending out «Thinking Of You» cards to let them know that I feel for them.

Here is the card that I made recently:

I kept it pretty simple by white heat embossing this beautiful floral image from Studio Calico/Jasmine Jones onto «Pool Party/Aquamarin» cardstock by Stampin' Up!. Then I added some light shading to the blossoms' petals with Prismacolor Pencils in white and aqua. I stamped the sentiment (from the German SU set «Malerische Grüsse» which means «I'm thinking of you») with VersaFine «Onyx Black».

I die-cut my panel with the My Favorite Things «Inside & Out Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX» Die-namics and popped up the outside piece with foam tape. I think this almost looks like a frame.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Faux Watercolor Flower Wreath

19.09.2015

Happy Saturday everyone,

a couple of weeks ago I tried something new. Since I'm not that good in freehand coloring I decided to use some stamps from Winnie & Walter (In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet with Joni Andaya) and My Favorite Things (Desert Bouquet) to create my flower wreath.

At first I draw a thin circle pencil line and then stamped the different flower and leaf images to build a wreath. I used Studio Calico Color Theory Dye Inks on Canson Cold Press Watercolor Paper (140 lb). To achieve that Faux Watercolor look I carefully went over the stamped images with a ZIG Watercolor Brush to make them more blurry. I didn't put any water to the smallest images which I used as fillers because I wanted to keep the crisp stamped lines.

After everthing was completely dry I stamped the «Make a Wish» sentiment from the My Favorite Things «Brushstroke Birthday» stamp set in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with «Gold Rich Pale Regular» embossing powder from WOW!. The brushstroke is from the MFT «Abstract Art» set. I stamped the middle of the aqua flowers in Tsukineko Golden Glitz ink to add a little bit more gold to my project which measured approximately 8" x 11" in the end.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge July

15.07.2015

Good morning peeps,

the new theme over at the bastel-traum.ch Challenge is «Summer».
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
The challenge will run until August 15th, 8:55 am CET.

I created a little nautical scene with the retired Studio Calico «Message in a Bottle» stamps. It's the same stamp set that I used for this card a couple of weeks ago.

I really love the color combo of Aqua, Red, Navy and Neutrals. The sentiment is heat embossed with «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder by Ranger. The stitched frame is a Simon Says Stamp die and I stamped my own striped background with the «Diagonal Stripes» stamp in «Fog» ink which are also from SSS. The polka dot paper is from Simple Stories. I embellished my card with My Mind's Eye enamel dots and May Arts Natural Jute String.

Thank you so much for stopping by! See you tomorrow!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge May

15.05.2015

Hello everyone,

today I want to share with you my card for the bastel-traum.ch Challenge – the new theme is «Water».
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
The challenge will run until June 15th, 8:55 am CET.

In Germany, yesterday's Ascension day is also Father's Day and this is the card I made for my lovely daddy.

At first, I created this kind of watery background with Distress Inks («Tumbled Glass», «Salty Ocean» and «Peacock Feathers») and lots of water. I also added some random splatters by flipping my paint brush. After everything was completely dry, I stamped the wave image from the Studio Calico «Message in a Bottle» stamp set in VersaMark and heat embossed it with aqua embossing powder. Then I carefully cut along the top of the wave with my craft knife to create a slit. I white embossed the bottle on vellum and fussy cut it right against the edge. I stamped the sentiment and heart from the Simon Says Stamp «Sending happy thoughts» stamp set and heat embossed it in «Cherry Cobbler» (Stampin' Up!) and «Liquid Platinum» (Ranger). The cork was made out of wood veneer paper. I tucked the bottle in the slit at an angle so it looks like it peeks out of the waves. To finish my card, I adhered some matching Doodlebug pearls and a strip of My Mind's Eye washi tape to create a border.

I enter my card to the SSS Flickr Challenge #19 – Create your own background.

Thank you so much for stopping by! See you tomorrow :o)
