Spring is finally here and there's a new theme over at the bastel-traum.ch blog: «Flowers/Mother's Day».

 

This challenge will run until May 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

I created this floral Mother's Day card for my mom using the gorgeous WPlus9 «Kind Soul» stamp.

I watercolored these beautiful flowers with my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens and fussy cut them out leaving a small white border. Next, I adhered them to a light pink top-folding card base on which I gold heat embossed the sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Stamps «Fresh Flowers» set. I kept the card simple and only added some Nuvo Jewel Drops.

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #41

Good morning peeps,

today we have a new theme over at the bastel-traum.ch Challenge – «Fantasy». Grab your fairies, unicorns, other magical stamps etc. and join the fun!

 

This challenge will run until June 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

I'm in love with the cutest little dragons ever from the Cleary Besotted Stamps «Hot Stuff» set.

I colored this adorable baby dragon with my Copics and fussy cut him out leaving a small white border. For the background, I stamped the Simon Says Stamp «Stepping Stones» background at an angle using VersaMark ink and did some clear heat embossing.

After that, I grabbed some of my favorite Distress Ink colors («Cracked Pistachio», «Peacock Feathers», «Tumbled Glass» and «Twisted Citron») and blended them together. I added some random water droplets to lift the color here and there.

I cut my panel with the largest SSS «Stitched Rectangle» die and adhered it to a teal card base. The sentiment is from the Clearly Besotted «Caped Cuties» stamp set and I heat embossed it in white on a strip of black cardstock. To finish off my card, I added some sequins.

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #323

Good morning peeps,

the new theme for the Everybody-Art-Challenge is an easy peasy one – «Happy Birthday». That's the most common occasion I create cards for, I think.

I hope I don't bore you ;o) but here comes my third card using the same arrangement of Papertrey Ink's «Doodlie-do» stamps. I can't get enough of these pretty flowers *hehe*.

This time, I white heat embossed them onto «Bermuda Bay» cardstock from Stampin' Up!. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Stamps («Fabulous Fuchsias») and I stamped it in Versafine «Onyx Black».

Why not give this birthday card to a man? What do you think?

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #322

Good morning everyone,

we have a new theme for the Everybody-Art-Challenge and it's «Book Page or a piece of it». I created a sympathy card. I have a hard time to make them since it's always for such a sad cause :o(

I didn't use a real book page but instead I digged out some of my favorite My Mind's Eye design papers. I went with neutrals for this card. The striped paper was adhered to a kraft top folding card base. I distressed the edges of the text paper with a Tim Holtz tool and bended the corners a bit to give it some dimension. Then I heat embossed the beautiful «Fancy Feathers» from Clearly Besotted Stamps in white and fussy cut them. I stamped the sentiment from WPlus9 («Very Vintage Greetings») in black and added some black enamel dots and a little red heart as my only pop of color.

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge April

Hello everyone,

it's the 15th of the month and time for the new bastel-traum.ch Challenge.

 

This time we have a fun bingo chart for you:

The challenge will run until May 15th, 8:55 am CET.

I created a card using the right vertical line: Flower – Embossing – Wood – Yellow.

At first, I ran my kraft card base through my Cuttlebug with a striped embossing folder from Darice to create some texture. Then I die-cut a piece of  ivory cardstock using my beloved stitched dies from Simon Says Stamp. I also created a circle window with the stitched detail on the outside and adhered the panel using foam tape. I stamped the gorgeous flower from the Clearly Besotted Stamps «Fresh Flowers» stamp set and did some Copic coloring. I fussy cut the flower leaving a small white border and placed it right into the window with foam tape, too. Love the dimension it creates.

For the sentiment I die-cut this beautiful scripty word «Sending» from SSS Cherry Wood Veneer Paper and also two layers of white cardstock and stacked them together. I did the same with the little heart. They kinda look like stickers or chipboard embellishments. Then I stamped the «Hugs & Kisses» from the «Fresh Flowers» stamp set on a strip of vellum and heat embossed it in white. I cut a little banner and carefully glued it behind the «Sending» die cut. Finally, I added some «Sparkling Clear» and «Lemon Merinque» sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and called it done ;o)

Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Blog Hop

Hello everyone,

I'm joining the Special Blog Hop for the Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine which is sadly shutting its doors. Crafters all over the world have teamed up to honor this inspiring magazine today. We would like to say Thank You for everything they have done for our industry and the papercrafting careers of so many talented people out there.

Although I've never been published in one of their magazines and own just a couple of issues (I really prefer the printed ones) I was totally bummed hearing these sad news. But I really love the idea of saying Goodbye with this huge blog hop.

That's why I'd like to share this card with you:

I created the pattern by repeatedly stamping the three different sized drops from the «Rounded Diamonds» stamp set by Avery Elle. They were stamped in warm colors using some Hero Arts Shadow Inks. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Stamps («Fabulous Fuchsias») and I heat embossed it in white. To give my card some kind of modern look I angled my stamped panel and added two strips of white cardstock underneath.

And as the sentiment already says – 'Have a great day' while hopping from blog to blog and enjoying all these fabulous creations.

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #300

Good morning peeps,

did you see it? Today starts the 300th! issue of the Everybody-Art-Challenge! Unbelievable how quick time flies!

I didn't made another Christmas card (although I should have done *hihi*) but this time I created a card for a special birthday!

This turned out pretty colorful and totally reminds me of Spring ;o) – quite a change to these grey and cold November days.

My card is based on the sketch that we are provided by Andrea/Emmi41 for this week:

I used some Stampin' Up! products from this year's SAB time: the «Petal Parade» stamp set and the Designer Series Paper called «Sweet Sorbet» – love these colors! Because of the busy patterned paper I cut my front panel from SU «Pool Party» cardstock using the Lawn Fawn «Stitched Journaling Card» die.

The vellum doily was cut with a die from SU (Sizzlits «Large Delicate Doilies»). Then
I gold embossed one of the flowers from the stamp set which is also printed on the patterned paper in the background. On the front panel I continued with some heat embossing in clear and white. The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted Stamps («Say It
In Style»).

On this close-up photo you can see all the heat embossing a bit better – I really like the look of it:

The numbers were cut from KARS Glitter Cardboard with the «Typewriter Numbers» die from Memory Box. I punched the butterfly (SU «Bitty Butterfly» punch) from vellum and added some tiny pearls to the body. For adhering the front panel I used some foam pads for a little bit dimension. To finish off my card I stuck some golden thread and a piece of chevron ribbon underneath.

DT Stempelgarten Challenge November

Hi everyone,

it's time for a new Stempelgarten Challenge and the theme for the month November
is «All Kinds of Animals».

Since I desperately need to start making my cards for Christmas I decided to use two gorgeous Memory Box dies.

At first I cut a piece of patterned paper (Kaisercraft «Confetti» Paper Pad). Then I created a window using a Spellbinders circle die. To give it some dimension I adhered the panel with foam pads to the cardbase.

I die-cut the «Leaping Deer» three times from Stampin' Up!'s «Early Espresso» cardstock and used some dimensional adhesive, too. The «Starry Wreath» was cut from KARS Glitter Cardboard and placed directly over the window so it looks like a frame. I also used all the tiny bits from the die-cut to sprinkle around my sentiment which is from Clearly Besotted Stamps («Christmas Sparkle»). I heat embossed it with ZING! «Copper» embossing powder – love that metallic finish!

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #298

Good morning peeps,

today I can show you my very first Christmas card for this year which I created for the new Everybody-Art-Challenge with the theme «Stars/Crystals».

I used the «Christmas Sparkle» stamp set from Clearly Besotted Stamps and white heat embossed this gorgeous tree which is built out of stars and snowflakes. Then I sponged some Simon Says Stamp «Sea Glass» ink over the tree and also around the edges of my square. The beautiful scripty word «Merry» was cut out of silver foil with one die of the «Merry Christmas Die Collection», also by Clearly Besotted Stamps. The word «christmas» (SSS «Happy» stamp set) is heat embossed in silver («Super Fine Silver Detail Embossing Powder» by Ranger). I matted my square with a piece of grey cardstock («Smoky Slate» by Stampin' Up!) and adhered it with foam tape to my card base. Finally I added some SU rhinestones to get some sparkle.

Homework OCC | Stretch your stamps 2 | Day 6

Guten Morgen zusammen,

ich habe heute wieder eine Karte für die Online Card Class «Stretch your stamps 2» für Euch. Ich hoffe, dass ich Euch damit nicht langweile, aber ich habe mächtig Spaß beim Ausprobieren der gezeigten Techniken.

Da ich ja bereits für den 5. Tag das Set «Fresh Flowers» von Clearly Besotted Stamps verwendet habe, kam es auch noch für Tag 6 (More Outline Stamps) zum Einsatz.

Debby Hughes zeigte, dass man neben Papier auch andere Materialien bestempeln kann. Ich habe es mit «Life Cherry Wood Veneer Paper» von Simon Says Stamp versucht. Die Blumen habe ich weiß embosst und anschließend ganz vorsichtig mit Prismacolor Pencils coloriert. Normale Stempelfarbe sowie Copics funktionieren bei diesem Wood Veneer Paper nicht wirklich, da es recht aufsaugt und somit «blutet». Den violetten Cardstock habe ich mit dem Hintergrundstempel «Tweed Pattern» von Hero Arts clear embosst.

Die Klasse geht nun zu Ende und ich weiß noch nicht, ob ich die Zeit haben werde, weitere Karten zu werkeln. Mal sehen…

Homework OCC | Stretch your stamps 2 | Day 5

Guten Morgen meine Lieben,

es geht weiter mit einer Karte für die Online Card Class «Stretch your stamps 2».

Am Tag 5 ging es um Outline Stamps und auch ich habe mich für das schöne Stempelset «Fresh Flowers» von Clearly Besotted Stamps entschieden.

Ich habe dieses hübsche Blumenmotiv in Gelb (ZING Butter) auf grauem Cardstock (Schiefergrau von Stampin' Up!) heiß embosst. Diese Farbkombi gefällt mir richtig gut! Anschließend habe ich die Blüten nochmal auf Vellum gestempelt und ebenfalls gelb embosst. Dann das Ganze entlang der Kontur ausgeschnitten und mit Glossy Accents nur in der Blütenmitte aufgeklebt und die Blätter leicht gebogen. Die gelben Perlen von Kaisercraft sind die einzige Deko, denn ich wollte die Karte ganz bewusst sehr schlicht halten. Das Sentiment stammt ebenfalls von Clearly Besotted Stamps (aus dem Set «Fabulous Fuchsia») und ich habe es in Liquid Platinum von Ranger embosst – ich mag diesen warmen Silberton total gern!

Auf diesem Foto kann man ein wenig erahnen, dass ich auf die Vellum-Blüten noch Wink of Stella Glitter in Clear aufgetragen habe.

Homework OCC | Stretch your stamps 2 | Day 3

Hallo Ihr Lieben,

auch heute möchte ich Euch eine weitere Karte für den Tag 3 der Online Card Class «Stretch your stamps 2» zeigen. Inspiriert wurde ich von Debby Hughes – ich liebe ihren Stil!

Ich habe diesmal zwei gezeigte Techniken kombiniert. Beim kleinen Schmetterling habe ich Word Art Stenciling angewendet. Das heißt ich habe einen Stencil von Teresa Collins auf meiner Karte positioniert und dann das Wort «happy» (aus dem
Set «A Little Sentimental» von Clearly Besotted Stamps) mit Sea Glass Ink (eine meiner Lieblingsfarben!) von Simon Says Stamp gestempelt. Anschliessend habe ich mit einem Dauber die gleiche Stempelfarbe von den Kanten her nach innen gewischt, um die Form des Schmetterlings zu definieren.

Beim große Schmetterling kam die Technik Stamped Die Cuts zum Einsatz. Zuerst habe ich den Schmetterling mit dem «Paulina Butterfly» Die von SSS ausgestanzt. Dann habe ich mit den Buchstaben-Stempeln «Milo's ABCs» von Lawn Fawn das Wort «BIRTHDAY» gebildet, über das ganze Stanzteil in VersaMark gestempelt und danach weiß embosst. Zum Schluss habe ich das Ganze wieder mit Sea Glass Ink bearbeitet, damit die Schrift besser sichtbar ist.

Bevor der große Schmetterling mit Foam Pads aufgeklebt wurde, habe ich die Punkte im Hintergrund mit einem Stencil von Heidi Swapp und Embossing Paste von Wendi Vecchi/Dreamweaver erstellt.

Das ausgestanzte Wort «happy» (SSS Die) habe ich mit etwas Glitzer des Wink of Stella Brush Pens in Clear versehen. Das Wort «birthday» (Clearly Besotted Stamps) ist in Starlite Silver Brilliance Ink (Tsukineko) gestempelt.

Der Cardstock der Grundkarte ist ebenfalls in der schönen Farbe Sea Glass von SSS.

Homework OCC | Stretch your stamps 2 | Day 1

Guten Morgen meine Lieben,

Ich bin ja ein großer Fan der Online Card Classes und momentan läuft der Kurs «Stretch your stamps 2». Die dort gezeigten Karten inklusive Video-Tutorials sind sehr inspirierend und zeigen die eine oder andere Technik, die es auszuprobieren gilt.

Zeitlich hänge ich etwas hinterher, aber wann immer ich kann, werde ich Euch hier meine «Hausaufgaben» zeigen.

Für den Tag 1 habe ich die von Shari Carroll gezeigte Technik «Faux Watercolor Stamping» (besonders für Reverse Background Stamps geeignet, ich hatte leider keinen passenden) angewendet. Dabei wird ein Hintergrundstempel, in meinem
Fall der Cling-Stempel «Classic Fabric Design» von Hero Arts, mit Distress Inks eingefärbt, anschliessend mit Wasser besprüht und dann aufs Papier gedrückt.

Dadurch erhält man die verschiedenen Farbverläufe. Der Textstempel stammt aus dem Set «Sweet Little Sentiments» von Clearly Besotted Stamps und wurde weiß embosst.

So, nun muss ich auch schon weiter und hoffe, dass ich Euch trotz Zeitmangel in den kommenden Tagen weitere Karten zeigen kann…

DT-Card Everybody-Art-Challenge #274

Hallo Ihr Lieben,

heute möchte ich Euch meinen DT-Beitrag zur aktuellen Everybody-Art-Challenge mit dem dankbaren ;o) Thema «Alles geht/Anything goes» zeigen.

Gewerkelt habe ich zwei Geschenkanhänger für einen Kindergeburtstag. Und da zwei Jungs gemeinsam Geburtstag gefeiert haben, wurden die Tags noch mit dem Namen versehen, damit die Geschenke nicht verwechselt werden konnten ;o)

Den Anhänger habe ich mit dem «Rounded Tag»-Die von Clearly Besotted Stamps ausgestanzt. Der süße Hund und der knuffige Bär stammen ebenso wie der gestreifte Stempel aus dem «Circle Friends»-Stempelset von Simon Says Stamp. Coloriert habe ich die kleinen Kerle mit meinen geliebten (jedoch in letzter Zeit vernachlässigten) Copics. Anschließend wurden sie ausgeschnitten und mit 3D Foam Pads aufgeklebt. Die winzigen Sterne sind aus dem tollen «Scenery: Big Bang Confetti»-Set von Winnie & Walter und die wunderbaren Alphabet-Stempel («Milo's ABCs») stammen von Lawn Fawn. Einfach praktisch, wie man mit den einzelnen Buchstaben-Stempeln seine eigenen Texte erstellen kann und der Font ist auch klasse! Auf die Nasen habe ich Glossy Accents von Ranger aufgetragen und die Sterne habe ich mit einer Glitterschicht des Clear Wink of Stella Brush Pen (ZIG) versehen. Das karierte Band stammt aus meinem Bastelfundus.
