DT Make it Crafty CAS Inspiration | Cherry Blossom

29.02.2016

Hi peeps,

although it's still winter here, I'm already in a spring mood. That's why I decided to print out and color this beautiful Cherry Blossom Digi Stamp as this month's inspiration for the Make it Crafty Store Blog.

I haven't used my Prismacolor Pencils for a long time and I chose them because I really love how they look on Kraft cardstock. These cherry blossoms are colored in pink like the Japanese ones. Here in Europe they are much more pale in color but I like the contrast to the neutral background.

I die-cut my panel using the largest Simon Says Stamp «Stitched Rectangle» die and matted it on a piece of light pink cardstock which is slighty taller. The top-folding card base is made from Kraft cardtock, too. The German sentiment (which means «Get well») was white heat embossed on a strip of dark brown cardstock which I cut into a banner on the left side. I adhered it with foam tape and added matching pearls to my card.

Thank you so much for stopping by! See you tomorrow.

Winnie & Walter Belated 2nd Birthday Bash | Challenge 4

28.02.2016

Hello everyone,

February is almost over and I made a last card for the Winnie & Walter's Belated 2nd Birthday Bash Challenges.

I had a blast creating this card for Mayuri's Inlaid Die Cutting Challenge:

I think the «Cover Model: Multifaceted Cutaway» die is just perfect for this technique. I die-cut it five times – one from white cardstock and the other from four patterned papers by Lily Bee Designs. To help me keep all these pieces in place I used dryer sheets during my die cutting.

I covered the whole front of my card base with a sheet of Ken Oliver's «Stick it» adhesive and glued down the white grid of the multifaceted design. Than the real fun part started – I randomly inlaid all the pieces of patterned paper.

Finally I die-cut the scripty word «hello» from the «The Big, the Bold and Happy Cutaways» set. I built a stack of four layers of black cardstock. I clear heat embossed it three times to achieve the look of an enamel embellishment which matches the two little enamel hearts.

I really enjoyed these challenges and I wish I could have joined some more because they were all so inspiring.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Winnie & Walter Belated 2nd Birthday Bash | Challenge 3

22.02.2016

Hi peeps,

New week – new creation! I made another card for one of the Winnie & Walter's Belated 2nd Birthday Bash Challenges.

This time I'd love to play with Vanessa's Rainbow Challenge. And here is my take:

I used the two butterfly dies from the «Essentials: Audrey Cutaways» set to cut out a bunch of butterflies from various colors of Stampin' Up! cardstocks. Then I arranged all the butterflies by color on a sheet of copy paper and adhered them temporarly and face-down with a non-permanent tape runner. When all the pieces were in place I die-cut a circle. I also cut a second circle from plain white cardstock. I put some liquid glue to the backs of the butterflies, flipped the panel over and adhered it on top of the white circle. I let it dry for a couple of minutes and then carefully released the copy paper.

The sentiment is from the «The Big, the Bold and Friends» stamp set and I attached the stamp slightly curved to my acrylic block. I stamped it in VersaFine «Onyx Black». I adhered the circle with foam tape and added some sparkle to all the butterflies with the ZIG «Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen».

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Winnie & Walter Belated 2nd Birthday Bash | Challenge 2

20.02.2016

Happy Saturday everyone,

It has been a busy week for me but I managed to create another card for Winnie & Walter's Belated 2nd Birthday Bash.

This card is for Gayatri's Create Your Own Background Challenge:

I did a ton of stamping using all kinds of flowers, branches and leaves from several stamp sets («In Bloom: Hollie's Festive Florals», «In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet» and «The Write Stuff: Leave it to Mum»). The white Pigment Ink is from Hero Arts and with the help of my MISTI I stamped all images about three times to achieve a better coverage on the grey cardstock. It took a lot of patience but I'm really happy with the result.

For cutting my panel I used the largest «Stitched Rectangle» die from Simon Says Stamp and adhered it to a purple card base. I die-cut the word «hello» from the same cardstock using the «In a Word: Hello Cutaway». The two little hearts are from the «Essentials: Audrey Cutaways» set. Finally I added two thin strips of silver glitter cardstock.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Enjoy your weekend!

DT Make it Crafty CAS Challenge #10 | You Melt My Heart

16.02.2016

Hi everyone,

although Valentine's Day is already over, I want to show you another love themed card that I created for the current Make it Crafty Clean and Simple Challenge with the theme «Splats».

For my background I did some Ink Blending with Distress Inks («Abandoned Coral», «Picked Raspberry» and «Spun Sugar»). To create all these fun splatters I loaded my paint brush with the ink and water and flicked the colors over my panel. I also added some white ones using the Studio Calico «Opaque White» Mister Huey's Mist. When everything was completely dry I die-cut my panel using a scalloped and pierced frame from the Winnie & Walter «Essentials: Audrey Cutaways» set.

The sentiment is from the new Outlined Words With Love Chipboard set. I separated the thin outline from the words by cutting the tiny tabs with a craft knife. Then I heat embossed the outline in white and the sentiment in black and put them back together. Zoe has done a really helpful demonstration video which you can find HERE. These outlined words are simply gorgeous and there are many possibilities to use them on your projects.

I die-cut a heart from vellum and tucked it under my chipboard sentiment before I glued it down. To finish off my card I adhered some clear sequins.

You still have time to enter our «Splats» challenge by the end of the month. You can find all the details HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #38

15.02.2016

Good morning everyone,

it's the 15th of the month! So today starts the new bastel-traum.ch Challenge with the theme «Birthday/Party».
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until March 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

I created a fun Birthday card with this cute little monkey from Reverse Confetti.

He was colored with Copics and I did some fussy cutting with sharp scissors and ran a black marker along the edges. The balloons (from the same «Monkey Business» stamp set) were covered with Glossy Accents and popped up with a bit of foam tape.

The scalloped frame was cut from patterned paper (My Mind's Eye «Lime Twist») using a die from the Confetti Cuts «Love Note» set. I also hand-cut a piece of white cardstock and did some faded blending with Simon Says Stamp «Sea Glass» and «Mali Blue» Dye Inks.

I stamped the sentiment in Versafine «Onyx Black» and added the striped MME paper to the white top folding card base. I rounded all the corners using the We R Memory Keepers «Corner Chomper». Finally I put everything together and embellished my card with three Studio Calico wood veneer stars.

Thank you so much for stopping by! See you tomorrow!

Winnie & Walter Belated 2nd Birthday Bash | Challenge 1

14.02.2016

Hi peeps,

First of all ♥ Happy Valentine's Day ♥

Today I show you a card that isn't only for this occasion but also for Winnie & Walter's Belated 2nd Birthday Bash. They are having a month long celebration going on filled with fun challenges, lots of inspiration, special guests and fabulous giveaways! I hope I will be able to take part in some of the challenges – there are 10 in all!

This is my take on the Gold + Watercolor Challenge hosted by Heather Hoffman:

For my watercolor background I did a loose wash with some Distress Inks («Spun Sugar», «Picked Raspberry» and «Abandoned Coral»). When everything was completely dry I die-cut it using the smaller scalloped and pierced frame from the «Essentials: Audrey Cutaways» set.

Then I heat embossed the faceted heart from the «True» stamp set in Gold and fussy cut it out. I combined two stamp sets («My Precious» and «True») to create my own sentiment and stamped it in VersaFine «Onyx Black».

I adhered a piece of golden striped paper from My Mind's Eye to my card base. I wrapped some golden string around my watercolor panel and tied a little bow. For some dimension I popped up the panel and the heart with foam tape.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT Stempelgarten Challenge February

05.02.2016

Good morning peeps,

it's time for a new Stempelgarten Challenge and this month's theme is «Hearts».

http://stempelgartenchallenge.blogspot.ch/

I made this love-themed card with one of the most adorable sheeps from the Birdie Brown «Ewe Are The Best» stamp set by My Favorite Things.

I immediately fell in love with this cute little fellow which I colored with Copics. Then I fussy cut him out.

For the background I did some Ink Blending using Distress Inks («Abandoned Coral», «Worn Lipstick» and Picked Raspberry) Obviously, I'm still in the pink mood ;-) The handwritten sentiment is from the MFT «True Friends» set and I stamped it in VersaFine «Onyx Black» and heat embossed it in clear. I cut my panel using a Simon Says Stamp «Stitched Rectangle» die and adhered it to my white top folding card base.

I die-cut two small hearts (Mama Elephant «Confetti» die) from black cardstock which I covered with Glossy Accents. I also added a coat of clear Wink of Stella Brush Pen glitter to the sheep's heart.

You will have time until February 29th, 2016 to join our challenge and this is the prize you could win:

A craft package from the Stempelgarten Online Shop with a value of CHF 20.–.

I'm entering my card to the following challenges:
