Sunny Studio Stamps • Spring Release • Lovey Dovey

13.01.2022

Hi everyone,

the new Spring Release went live last Friday and it is jam-packed with totally adorable stamps and fabulous dies!

For my first card I used the Lovey Dovey set which comes with beautiful large love-themed sentiments. I picked the precious 'I love you to the moon and back' one and created a night scene around it.

First, I started off with the background and trimmed down a piece of white cardstock to a regular A2 size. I used the smallest of the Tim Holtz Moon Masks and created a radiant blend around the circle using Distress Oxide Inks (Salvaged Patina, Prize Ribbon, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot). I also added the moon texture with the stencil and a light touch of Pumice Stone ink. I let everything dry completely before stamping the sentiment inside the moon with VersaMark Ink. To create a shiny, translucent look I used Salvaged Patina Distress Embossing Glaze to heat emboss the sentiment.

Next, I die cut the Cityscape Border from black cardstock to mimic house silhouettes in the dark of the night. I also hand cut some yellow paper to go behind it for the tiny enlightened windows. For the ground I trimmed down a dark grey cardstock strip and adhered it as well as the cityscape to my ink blended background.

I fell in love with the new Passionate Penguins Stamps the first time I saw them – they are sooo cute! Of course I had to use them on my card ;-) I stamped the penguins in the car with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and did some Copic coloring. The image was die cut with the coordinating die and popped up using foam tape. Finally, I die cut three little hearts from pink cardstock and covered them with Glossy Accents.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Wishing you a wonderful day!

Hello Bluebird • Rooftop Reindeer • Merriest Wishes

22.10.2018

Hello everyone,

I finally got my hands on the amazing products of the Hello Bluebird October Release. So much cute stuff!

This is the first card I made using the Rooftop Reindeer set. I colored one of the adorable deers with Copics.

Then I combined it with the Birch Trees Die and a Distress Oxide Inks background to create a snowy winter scene. The sparkly hill was made with Tim Holtz «Clear Rock Candy» Distress Glitter.

I heat embossed the sentiment from the Snow Play set (which is brand new, too) with «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder. Finally, I added two wood veneer stars to finish off my card.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Will be back soon!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #66

15.06.2018

Good morning everyone,

today starts a new challenge over at the bastel-traum.ch blog and the theme is «Hobby/Leisure».
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until July 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

The latest Lawn Fawn release was phenomenal and I loved creating with one of my favorite stamp sets which is called «You Are Sublime». The little diver is just the cutest and of course the submarine had to be yellow.

I created an Alcohol Ink background using aqua, blue and a bit of purple and green tones. Next, I stamped, Copic colored and die cut the images for my underwater scene (BTW, the shell is from the «Life Is Good» set). I white heat embossed the sentiment from the «Elphie Selfie» set on a thin strip of black cardstock.

For some shine, I added Glossy Accents to the bubbles, swimming goggles and submarine portholes. To finish off my card, I adhered two sparkly faceted crystals by Little Things from Lucy's Cards and a Brutus Monroe two-tone pearl.

I'm entering the current Lawn Fawnatics Cards for Guys challenge:

Hello Bluebird • Piggy Picnic

31.05.2018

Good morning everyone,

I finally got my hands on the new products from the Hello Bluebird May Release. And what can I say, I just LOVE them all!

I made this card using these adorable pigs from the Farmyard Little Bits stamp set. They are sitting on a polka dot blanket (from the Hippos on Holiday set) enyoing a little cupcake picnic. I did some masking to create my scene. Since I haven't done the No Line Coloring technique for quite a while, I used it for a change. I combined Copics and Prismacolor pencils for details. I tried the new-to-me «Fadeout No Line Coloring» ink by Ink On 3 and I really like it.

In the background, I did some light ink blending using the Tim Holtz Distress Blending Brushes which are great for this. Next, I die cut the My Favorite Things «Snow Globe» shape from «Subtle Plaids» patterned paper. I directly adhered my colored scene to the card base and popped up the plaid window panel with foam tape. The sentiment from the Farmyard Little Bits stamp set was heat embossed in white on a small banner. Finally, I added two die cut clouds (Puddle Play Die) and a small pink heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

DT bastel-traum.ch Christmas Blog Hop

24.12.2017

Good morning peeps,

today I'm joining the special Christmas Blog Hop over at the bastel-traum.ch blog with this simple shaker card:

For the very first time, I made a vibrant background with Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Inks. They are so much fun to play with! I also added a bit of «Silver Metallic Mixative» to the blue tones.

I thought it would create a nice winter night sky inside of a little snow globe scene which I created with dies and a matching shaker pouch by My Favorite Things. I cut the «Our Town» die from grey cardstock and adhered it to my alcohol ink background. Next, I white heat embossed the santa sleigh image from Stampin' Up!. I filled the «Dome» shaker pouch with a variety of sequins and seed beads.

The white cardstock panel was cut with one of the «A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2» Die-namics. I heat embossed the sentiment from the «Hand Lettered Holiday» set with silver embossing powder by Ranger.

I invite you to hop along with us for some final Christmas inspiration – here is the complete Blog Hop list:

DT Stempelgarten Challenge December

05.12.2017

Good morning peeps,

today starts the last Stempelgarten Challenge of the year. And since most of us are really busy right now, we have a simple theme for you this month: «Anything Goes».

http://stempelgartenchallenge.blogspot.ch/

This adorable Whimsy Stamps «Balancing Elf» (illustrated by Krista Heij-Barber) made me giggle the moment I saw him.

I colored this cutie with my Copics and fussy cut him leaving a small white border. For the background, I cut a sheet of Lawn Fawn «Perfectly Plaid Christmas» patterned paper and adhered it to my top-folding card base. Next, I run some red cardstock through my die-cutting machine with the Sizzix/Tim Holtz «Holiday Knit» embossing folder. I also cut it with a stitched rectangle die from the My Favorite Things «Blueprints 29» set and popped it up with fun foam.

I gold heat embossed one of the «Snow Globe Sentiments» on a strip of white cardstock which I die cut with a die from the same «Blueprints 29» set. I adhered the little elf with foam tape and added golden sparkling enamel dots as well as wood veneer stars by Studio Calico.

You will have time until December 31st, 2017 to enter the Stempelgarten Challenge and this is the prize you could win:

A craft package from the Stempelgarten Online Shop with a value of CHF 20.–.

I'm joining the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge with the theme «Anything Goes».

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

DT Skipping Stones Design | Tip/Technique Hop #2

10.10.2015

Hi crafty friends,

welcome to our second Skipping Stones Design Tip/Technique Hop. Today each DT member will share a technique, tip or suggestion for creating or organizing. You should have arrived from the Skipping Stones Design Blog. We hope you'll find lots of inspiration while hopping along (see the complete link list at the bottom of this post). For your chance to be a random winner of a Skipping Stones Design stamp set simply leave a comment at each stop of the hop.

With my card I'm showing you how easy and quick you can create a background with the help of a stencil. And I also turned a solid stamp image into a metallic embellishment.

At first I sponged two turquoise tones of Dye Inks («Sea Glass» and «Mali Blue» from Simon Says Stamp) through the Tim Holtz «Doily» Stencil and created a light gradient. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Heartsong 2 stamp set in VersaMark and heat embossed it in silver.

I also heat embossed the silhouette bird from the Garden Stamp Kiss set with the same silver embossing powder. But this time I repeated the heat embossing two times to get a more raised image. Then I fussy cut my little birdie and adhered it with small 3D foam pads. To finish my card I added some rhinestones.

If you get lost along the way here is the line-up of all the hop participants:

DT-Card Everybody-Art-Challenge #286

08.07.2014

Guten Morgen meine Lieben,

Aud Sentiments Challenge
Challenge 110 – Anything Goes
Crafty Creations Challenges
Challenge #266 Things with wings

Bei uns regnet es heute – vielleicht komme ich ja ein wenig zum Werkeln…

DT-Card Everybody-Art-Challenge #256

03.12.2013

Guten Morgen Ihr Lieben,

Addicted to Stamps Challenge
Challenge # 70 – Embossing
Keep it Simple Challenge
Keep it Simple! # 28: Schnee/Snow
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Anything Goes
The Squirrel and the Fox Challenge
Challenge #58 – Summer or Winter
Totally Gorjuss Challenge
Challenge 212 – Snows the way to go

Nun verabschiede ich mich von Euch mit winterlichen Grüßen und wünsche Euch weiterhin eine schöne Woche.
