For today's preview project I chose the adorable JB Books & Buddies Stamp & Die Duo and created a one layer card.

I started off with a white A2 card base and trimmed down another white cardstock panel to the same size. With the help of masking, I stamped a little scene using a couple of the images. After coloring them with Copic markers, I covered everything with fussy cut masks to do some stenciling in the background. I used the Small Brick Wall Stencil along with Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Ink.

Finally, I stamped one of the sentiments in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. Hope you like this CAS card :-)

MFT Stamps • Flower Fusion Card Kit • Preview

Happy Monday everyone,

today we're introducing the My Favorite Things Flower Fusion Card Kit that will be available tomorrow at 10 am EST.

This beautiful kit lets you create colorful floral cards with clever stencils, a gorgeous word die and a versatile sentiment stamp set in a pretty font.

On my card, I combined the stunning Flower Fusion Stencil Set (which contains of 5 easy-to-use layering stamps) with the Smart Mask High/Low Strip Stencil.

I started off with a standard sized A2 card base made from white cardstock. I trimmed down another white cardstock panel to the same size and attached the masking stencil first. Next, I worked my way through all the several layers using Distress Oxide Inks to color the flowers (Mustard Seed, Saltwater Taffy, Abandoned Coral, Salvaged Patina, Milled Lavender, Wilted Violet) and leaves (Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn).

I picked a 'Thank You' sentiment from the Essential Messages stamp set and stamped it in VersaMark Ink. To match some of the flowers, I heat embossed it with Salvaged Patina Distress Embossing Glaze.

MFT Stamps • March Card Kit Release

Hi peeps,

I did some creative masking for today's One Layer Card on which I combined the Birdie Brown Birthday Bears with the small images from the Concesson Signage stamp set.

First, I created a standard A2 sized card from white cardstock. I stamped the two bears at the center and colored them with Copic markers. I stamped parts of the images again onto post-it notes to mask off the paws. Now I stamped the popcorn and drink over the masks to make it look like the bears are holding them. After coloring the images, I stamped out new masks to cover up everything before doing the background.

To create the floor, I masked off about two thirds of the top and blended on Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Ink which is a perfect light grey. Then I switched the mask to cover up the bottom and lightly applied Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink in circular motions.

Next, I put the Sunny Rays Stencil on top and sponged through Salvaged Patina and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink, letting the color fade out towards the outside. Finally, I stamped one of the Picture-Perfect Sentiments in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink below the bears.

Sunny Studio Stamps • Heart Bouquet

Hello everyone,

hope you spent some wonderful holidays with your loved ones! Now that Christmas is over, it's time to get ready for the upcoming Sunny Studio Spring Release. There's a new mini stamp set called Heart Bouquet which is already available in the store. Haven't created a fun one layer card for ages, so I combined the cutie from the Bear Hugs set with this sweet bunch of balloons.

First, I started off with a top folding A2 card base made from white heavyweight cardstock. I stamped the polar bear in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a white cardstock panel and also created a mask for him. Next, I stamped the heart ballons and ice block. I created some masks for these images as well to cover them while I work on my background.

I masked off the bottom third, to blend the Distress Oxide Inks Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender, Spun Sugar and Tattered Rose together for the sky. I splattered on some ink with a small paint brush. After it was dry, I covered the background and applied Salvaged Patina ink for the water. I also stamped some waves which are included in the My Otter Half set.

It's always a magical moment when you peel off the masks. Now, I colored the images with Copic Markers. I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it in white. Finally, I cut out my scene with a stitched rectangle die and adhered it to the card base.

MFT Card Design Superstar Contest Coloring Virtuoso

Good morning everyone,

I made a second card for the ongoing My Favorite Things 2017 Card Design Superstar contest.

I'm entering the Coloring Virtuoso category with an one layer card that I colored with Copics and Prismacolor Pencils.

I used four! different Birdie Brown stamp sets to build the entire scene – «Cool Cat», «Our Story», «I Knead You» and «Lucky Dog». I love how perfectly all those images fit together, just as if they were from one set. And I always enjoy coloring them in, too!

This card is pretty much CAS but with a fun little twist because I wanted to tell a story. At first, I stamped and masked all the images. I don't make scenes like this often, so I really had to plan everything in advance. After all the images were protected by hand-cut masks, I sponged some «Insulation Pink» Premium Dye Ink through the «All Lined Up» stencil to create the subtle striped wall background. It's always like magic when you remove the masks :-)

Next, I carefully colored in my scene. I gave the dog's pillow a denim texture and added little details with a white gelly roll pen. The flower vase and the dog's nose are covered with Glossy Accents for some extra shine. I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with Ranger «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder. To finish off my card, I also put on small Nuvo «Rosewater» Jewel Drops.

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #307

Good morning everyone,

the new theme for this week's Everybody-Art-Challenge is «Envelope».

At first I wanted to create an envelope with my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board. But then I changed my mind and created this One Layer Card.

I used the «Sending Happy Thoughts» stamp set by Simon Says Stamp because of the various envelopes (theme accomplished *hihi*) and this beautiful handwritten sentiment. I arranged the envelopes diagonally by stamping them in SSS «Fog» ink. The border at the bottom was stamped in «Royal Red» (Hero Arts Shadow Ink) and «Night of Navy» (Stampin' Up!). I heat embossed the word «Sending» in «Cherry Chobbler» (Stampin' Up!) and stamped the tiny sentiment in VersaFine «Onyx Black». The two hearts were heat embossed in «Liquid Platinum» (Ranger).

I really enjoyed creating this CAS card with only one layer. That's what I love about this hobby – there's always something fun to try!

DT-Card Everybody-Art-Challenge #287

Guten Morgen Ihr Lieben,

hier ist meine Karte für die Everybody-Art-Challenge mit dem Thema «Schnörkel».

Habe ich Euch schon mal gesagt, wie megatoll ich Weiß auf Kraft Cardstock finde?!

Zuerst habe ich den Bereich, wo später der Text hinkommen sollte, mit Post it-Tape schräg abgeklebt. Dann habe ich mit den verschiedenen Einzelstempeln aus dem hübschen Set «Hennah Elements» von Altenew die Bereiche ober- und unterhalb
des abgeklebten Streifens in VersaMark bestempelt und anschließend weiß embosst. Danach habe ich mit einem VersaMarker und einem Lineal die Linien gezogen und ebenso wie den Text von Hero Arts («Messages with Flourish») weiß embosst. Die Enamel Dots stammen von My Mind's Eye.

DT-Card Stempelgarten Challenge Juni

Guten Morgen meine Lieben,

nun haben wir schon Juni und der Sommer lässt hoffentlich nicht mehr allzu lang auf sich warten…

Die neue Stempelgarten Challenge für diesen Monat hat folgendes schöne Thema:

❀ Blütentraum ❀

Das habe ich zum Anlass genommen, den wunderbaren Stempel «Delightful» von Penny Black einzuweihen. Schon seit Ewigkeiten wollte ich mal auf Kraft Cardstock colorieren und habe dafür nun endlich meine Prismacolor Farbstifte hervorgekramt.

Warum habe ich das denn nicht schon früher getan?! Es hat so viel Spaß gemacht, mit diesen cremigen, farbintensiven Stiften zu colorieren. Der Farbauftrag gelang ebenso wie das Verblenden eigentlich schon ganz gut (dafür dass es mein erster Versuch war).

Das Motiv habe ich mit «Unicorn White Pigment Ink» von Hero Arts gestempelt und war auch hier überrascht, wie gut das Weiß auf dem kraftfarbenen Grund zu sehen ist. Der Textstempel ist ebenfalls von Penny Black. Noch ein paar kleine weiße Pünktchen gestempelt und schon war diese «One Layer Card» fertig.

Und weil es mir so viel Freude bereitet hat, ist noch ein weiteres Kärtchen, diesmal auf etwas dunklerem Kraft Cardstock, von meinem Basteltisch gehüpft ;o)

Der Textstempel auf dieser Karte stammt von Papertrey Ink.
