Essentials by Ellen | Mondo Magnolia by Julie Ebersole

13.08.2015

Hello everyone,

I totally forgot to post this card which I already created a couple of weeks ago ;o) It features the beautiful and huge Essentials by Ellen «Mondo Magnolia» which was designed by the talented Julie Ebersole.

I stamped the magnolia twice on the opposite corners of my panel and heat embossed them in white. Then I did some Prismacolor Pencils Coloring (I know there are no turquoise magnolias in reality but I simply love this color *lol*). The «Tip Top Taupe» cardstock (one of the new Stampin' Up!  In Colors) is a bit darker than the usual Kraft cardstock I use.

The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up! set and means «Thinking of You». I white heat embossed it, too.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Homework OCC | Background Check | Day 1+3

06.08.2015

Hi everyone,

although I'm pretty busy at the moment, I didn't want to miss the current Online Card Class Background Check.

I created a card using one of the fun techniques with ink reaction shown on Day 1 by Jennifer McGuire: Distress inked background and using a baby wipe over a stencil on top.

I inked up my background with three Distress Inks: «Salty Ocean», «Peacock Feathers» and «Cracked Pistachio». Then I positioned the Hero Arts «Leaf & Flourish» stencil on top and carefully wiped a baby wipe over it to remove some of the ink. I really like this kind of bleached/washed out look.

I was inspired by Jennifer’s card design and cut my inked panel in two pieces and adhered them to my card base leaving a gap. Then I stamped my sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp stamp set with Versafine «Onyx Black» in between. The word «happy» was cut from silver glitter cardstock using a SSS die.

I link up my finished card to the Day 3 Student Gallery. If I'd like to make another card for this class I will have to hurry because it will end pretty soon ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT Stempelgarten Challenge August

05.08.2015

Good morning peeps,

Today starts the new Stempelgarten Challenge with the theme «Hmm, yummy!». This means you'll have to add something food related to your project like a cake or cupcake, fruits, chocolate, BBQ etc.

http://stempelgartenchallenge.blogspot.ch/

I combined this cute little panda from the Your Next Stamp «Love and Smiles» stamp set with the C.C. Designs «Cupcake Die» to create a sweet birthday card.

I colored this lovely image with Copics and fussy cut it. For the cupcake die-cut I simply used some scraps of patterned paper (I wish I'd added some shading to the cupcake because it looks really flat). In the background I sponged some light aqua stars using the Memory Box «Starry Nights» stencil. The striped paper on the card base and the sentiment from the «Baked with Love» stamp set are by Lawn Fawn. To embellish my card I added a thin strip of silver foil and a couple of pearls.

This challenge will run until August 31st, 2015 and you can win a voucher with a value of CHF 20.– for the Stempelgarten Online Shop.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a sweet day!

I embellished the tree with rhinestones. The «Merry Christmas» is a combo of a silver heat embossed sentiment from the Christmas Labels stamp set and a silver foil die-cut (SSS die).

Hope you like my Christmas card in non-traditional colors!

Skipping Stones Design Grand Reopening/New Release Blog Hop – Day 1

Hi everyone,

today I have a special post for you! A couple of weeks ago I was invited to the brand-new design team of a returning stamp company located in the US – Skipping Stones Design. I'm glad to join them and we start with a fun Blog Hop.

Welcome to the Skipping Stones Design Grand Reopening/New Release Blog Hop. Skipping Stones Design has been around since 2005 but unofficially closed down for a few years while the owner Heather Timmins took some time off to graduate from school and she finally did! Congratulations Heather! So now she's back with a new design team, stamps and more …

Heather is offering free shipping to EVERYONE to celebrate - enter 'freeship' at checkout.

We hope you enjoy all the amazing design team projects along this Blog Hop and of course their is a prize up for grabs! You can win a $25 credit to the SSD storeSo make sure you leave a comment at each stop. Commenting will be left open until Saturday, August 8th and the winner will be announced on Monday, August 10th!

Now here is the card I created:

It's no secret that I simply love butterflies *giggle*, so I stamped my whole background with a solid stamp from the Breathtaking Butterflies set. I used Altenew and Simon Says Stamp Dye Inks in a pastel color palette and my MISTI to get these crisp impressions. The sentiment is from the Heartsong stamp set and I heat embossed it in white and cut a little banner. I put some silver thread behind it and adhered it with foam tape. For the edges of my panel I used one of the «Stitched Borders» from Lawn Fawn.

Now everyone let's start hopping and we hope you enjoy all the creations along the way and should you get lost, below is the complete line-up:
