Same but different #4

17.12.2014

Good morning everyone,

because of Christmas just around the corner my sweet friend Francine and I decided to post the fourth «Same but different» challenge a bit earlier this month. Do you want to know more about our challenge? Please click HERE.

Here is the stamp set we used this time – «Willkommen Weihnacht» (engl. version: «Wondrous Wreath») from Stampin' Up!

And this is my take – of course I had to create another Christmas card ;o)

I've chosen a more purplish/berry red instead of the traditional one. For stamping the wreath I used inks from three different manufacturers: «Beanstalk Green» (Simon Says Stamp), «Gumball Green» (Stampin' Up!) and «Purple Rain» (Studio Calico). Then I stamped the bow in VersaMark and heat embossed it with «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder by Ranger. I die-cut the bow and the wreath with the coordinating Framelits Dies and adhered them with foam pads to SU's «Natural White» Cardstock. The diagonally striped DP in the background is also from SU (the «Blackberry Bliss» and the «Purple Rain» go really well together). Finally I stamped the sentiment and added two tiny hearts.

If you have the same stamp set and get inspired by our challenge, feel free to play it with us! Leave a direct link to your project in the comment field below (No back links, please! It will be funnier to see new creations!). You can also upload your cards to our Same but different challenge Flickr gallery!

Now hop over to Francine to see her awesome creation.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #305

16.12.2014

Good morning peeps,

here comes my card for the last Everybody-Art-Challenge before the DT takes a little holiday break. We will be back in the new year, on January 6th 2015. The theme for this week is «Frame» and there are some prices to grab.

Finally, I made a card with this cool Santa from the «Mr. & Mrs. Claus» stamp set by Jane's Doodles that I won a couple of months ago ;o)

I colored him with my Copics and then did some fussy cutting. To create these tiny snowflakes in the background I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder. And since there had to be a frame on my card I die-cut one with the gorgeous «Holiday Frames» die by Simon Says Stamp. I did some inlaid die-cutting for the word «CHRISTMAS» by filling in the alphas which were cut from SSS Cherry Wood Veneer Paper. I wrapped some baker's twine around the bottom part of the frame and tied a bow. To give my card some dimension I adhered the embossed background panel, Mr. Claus and also the frame with 3D foam pads.

Thank you so much for stopping by! See you tomorrow!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge December

15.12.2014

Good morning everyone,
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/

it's time for the bastel-traum.ch Challenge with the new theme «Paper bag».
The challenge runs until January 15th, 8:55 am CET.

I decided to decorate a kraft paper bag for Christmas.

First I sponged some Tsukineko «Delicata Golden Glitz» ink using the new «Scenery: Classic Diagonal» Creative Screenings stencil from Winnie & Walter. Then I adhered two thin strips of polka dotted washi tape to the top and bottom of my stenciled area. The folks at Winnie & Walter also released some great dies lately. I die-cut the words «merry christmas» out of foiled cardstock with these awesome «The Big, the Bold and the Merry» Cutaways. The gorgeous deer die is from Savvy Stamps. I die-cut it four times and stacked all pieces together and added some sparkle with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen. To close my bag I punched two tiny holes and run some Natural Hemp Cord through and tied a bow. I lastly attached two metallic copper stars.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #304

09.12.2014

Good morning everyone,

it's time for the Everybody-Art-Challenge and this week we have a sketch for you:

And here's the Christmas card I created:

I've chosen these two cute birdies and the branch from the «Winter Sparrows»
stamp set by Lawn Fawn. I colored them with Copics and also used the coordinating dies instead of fuzzy cutting.

For the circle (cut with a My Favorite Things «Stitched Circle» die) I sponged some Simon Says Stamp inks («Sea Glass» and «Audrey Blue») with a Mini Ink Blending Tool by Ranger. Then I added the falling snow by using a SSS stencil and Wendi Vecchi Embossing Paste in white. The intricate die-cut behind the circle was created with the «Frostyville Wreath» die from Memory Box.

Because of the non-smooth surface of the Kaisercraft square card base in Kraft, it was a bit tricky to heat emboss the sentiment, the lines (SSS «Presents and Ornaments» stamp set) and the three snowflakes (Mama Elephant «Season's Greetings») in the top left corner.

To finish my card I added some sequins – I think they are perfect for a holiday card.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

DT Stempelgarten Challenge December

05.12.2014

Good morning peeps,

http://stempelgartenchallenge.blogspot.ch/

it's the last Stempelgarten Challenge for this year and the December matching theme is «Christmas Greetings».

For my card I used the cute «Stitched Stockings» stamp set and coordinating dies
by My Favorite Things.

I stamped the stockings with Avery Elle pigment inks in non-traditional Christmas colors (Raspberry, Lemon Grass, Aquamarine). The cluster in the background was stamped in «Crumb Cake» onto kraft cardstock (both from Stampin' Up!). I white embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set. Then I punched some holes at the top of the stockings and run through some natural jute string. At both ends I attached wooden buttons and adhered everything to my card using «Multi Medium Matte» from Ranger (under the buttons) and foam tape. Finally I rounded the corners of my card with a EK Success punch.

The challenge runs until December 31st, 2014 and this time you can win a voucher with a value of CHF 20.– for the Stempelgarten Online Shop.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!

Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Blog Hop

03.12.2014

Hello everyone,

I'm joining the Special Blog Hop for the Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine which is sadly shutting its doors. Crafters all over the world have teamed up to honor this inspiring magazine today. We would like to say Thank You for everything they have done for our industry and the papercrafting careers of so many talented people out there.

Although I've never been published in one of their magazines and own just a couple of issues (I really prefer the printed ones) I was totally bummed hearing these sad news. But I really love the idea of saying Goodbye with this huge blog hop.

That's why I'd like to share this card with you:

I created the pattern by repeatedly stamping the three different sized drops from the «Rounded Diamonds» stamp set by Avery Elle. They were stamped in warm colors using some Hero Arts Shadow Inks. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Stamps («Fabulous Fuchsias») and I heat embossed it in white. To give my card some kind of modern look I angled my stamped panel and added two strips of white cardstock underneath.

And as the sentiment already says – 'Have a great day' while hopping from blog to blog and enjoying all these fabulous creations.

You should have arrived from the sweet Emily Branch and your next stop will be over at the blog of Chameleon Pens.

A special thank you to Taheerah for organizing this fantastic blog hop!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #303

02.12.2014

Hi everyone,

I'm absolutely late with my card for the current Everybody-Art-Challenge and this is going to be a short post. For this week the theme is «Bells» and of course I created another Christmas card.

I don't know why, but I love to use deers on my holiday cards! This cute one and the gorgeous wreath are from the «Happy Christmas» stamp set by Winnie & Walter.
I heat embossed the deer with «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder by Ranger and the leaves of the wreath were colored with Copics. I die-cut a circle and attached two little silver bells with natural jute string (May Arts). I've chosen my current favorite Christmas sentiment stamp (Memory Box) and also stamped a couple of the berries and heat embossed them in «Cherry Chobler» (Stampin' Up!). The DP and the red cardstock are also from SU.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #302

25.11.2014

Good morning peeps,

only one month to go until Christmas! That's why I created another holiday card for the Everybody-Art-Challenge with the theme «Snowflake».

For the focal point of my card I used two awesome snowflake dies from Memory Box. Love the «Dazzling Snowflake» – it is really big, intricate and cuts a negative. The other one is called «New Castle Snowflake» and I heat embossed it two times with «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder by Ranger. It almost looks like a metallic embellishment. The dark blue cardstock («Night of Navy») is from Stampin' Up!,
as is the rhinestone in the center of the snowflakes. I heat embossed the beautiful scripty sentiment (also by Memory Box) on vellum with the same embossing powder and attached it diagonally.

That's all from me for today! Thanks for stopping by!

Same but different #3

24.11.2014

Happy Monday everyone,

and welcome to the third «Same but different» challenge. Do you want to know more about the challenge? Please click HERE.
Here is the stamp set that we used this time – «Painted Flowers» by Altenew:

And here is my take:

I really love this beautiful multi-layer stamp set! To achieve a soft and feminine feel
to my card, I decided to do some watercoloring with Distress Inks. I also wanted the flowers to look like they are actually painted.

I stamped the two solid layered flowers in «Worn Lipstick» and «Picked Raspberry». Then I slightly touched them with my paint brush and some water and also added a light color wash to the background. After that I completely dried it with my heat gun. The gorgeous flower outlines were stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed in gold («Super Fine Silver Detail Embossing Powder» by Ranger).

For the sentiment I combined the «Happy Script» die from Mama Elephant and the golden embossed word «birthday» («The Big, the Bold and the Happy» by Winnie & Walter). To finish my card, I randomly scattered some sequins (Pretty Pink Posh and from my stash) and golden enamel dots (My Mind's Eye).

If you have the same stamp and get inspired by our challenge, feel free to play it with us! Leave a direct link to your project in the comment field below (No back links, please! It will be funnier to see new creations!). You can also upload your cards to our Same but different challenge Flickr gallery!

Now hop over to Francine to see her awesome creation.

Thank you so much for stopping by! See you tomorrow!

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #301

18.11.2014

Good morning everyone,

wow, time is really flying by these days! And although there are a whole bunch of holiday cards that I still need to make, I created a also required wedding card for the Everybody-Art-Challenge. The new theme is «Circle on the card».

Aren't these two bunnies just the cutest? They are from the «Honey Bunny» stamp set by Mama Elephant and I really like all the tiny accessories that are included, too.
I colored them with my Copics and did some fussy cutting along the edges. For the background I used the «Falling Hearts» die from Simon Says Stamp. I put a piece of KARS Glitter Cardboard in Lavender behind it – love all that sparkle! The sentiment («Bountiful Blessings» by Mama Elephant) was stamped onto vellum with VersaMark ink and heat embossed using the beautiful «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder by Ranger. I also punched out a heart (SU «Heart to Heart» punch) and covered it with the same embossing powder to match my sentiment.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

With love

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge November

15.11.2014

Good morning everyone,
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
it's time for the bastel-traum.ch Challenge with the new theme «Shaped cards».
The challenge runs until December 15th, 8:55 am CET.

I created a circle card for Christmas.

When I bought some patterned tapes (actually for gift wrapping) I immediately knew
I wanted to create a card background with them. I adhered them to white cardstock leaving just a little gasp between each strip. Then I cut out a circle using one of my Spellbinders dies. I also cut a round card base with the same circle die without cutting the top where the fold is meant to be. I adhered my panel with an angle so the strips are orientated diagonally. Since I love deers on my holiday cards, I cut two of those cuties using the «Deer Trio» dies from Impression Obsession. Because of the big pattern in the background I decided to add a vellum circle before attaching them to my card. I went a bit crazy with die cutting on this card ;o) and created this gorgeous white frame with the Marianne Design Craftables «Circle & Flower Stitch» die and another Spellbinders circle. For my sentiment I cut a banner with a Simon Says Stamp «Small Folded Banner» die out of red cardstock. I slightly curved my text stamp (Stampin' Up!) to fit the banner and heat embossed it in white. I adhered it using foam tape. To finish my card I added some metallic red sequins ans white enamel dots.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #300

11.11.2014

Good morning peeps,

did you see it? Today starts the 300th! issue of the Everybody-Art-Challenge! Unbelievable how quick time flies!

I didn't made another Christmas card (although I should have done *hihi*) but this time I created a card for a special birthday!

This turned out pretty colorful and totally reminds me of Spring ;o) – quite a change to these grey and cold November days.

My card is based on the sketch that we are provided by Andrea/Emmi41 for this week:

I used some Stampin' Up! products from this year's SAB time: the «Petal Parade» stamp set and the Designer Series Paper called «Sweet Sorbet» – love these colors! Because of the busy patterned paper I cut my front panel from SU «Pool Party» cardstock using the Lawn Fawn «Stitched Journaling Card» die.

The vellum doily was cut with a die from SU (Sizzlits «Large Delicate Doilies»). Then
I gold embossed one of the flowers from the stamp set which is also printed on the patterned paper in the background. On the front panel I continued with some heat embossing in clear and white. The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted Stamps («Say It
In Style»).

On this close-up photo you can see all the heat embossing a bit better – I really like the look of it:

The numbers were cut from KARS Glitter Cardboard with the «Typewriter Numbers» die from Memory Box. I punched the butterfly (SU «Bitty Butterfly» punch) from vellum and added some tiny pearls to the body. For adhering the front panel I used some foam pads for a little bit dimension. To finish off my card I stuck some golden thread and a piece of chevron ribbon underneath.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!

DT Stempelgarten Challenge November

05.11.2014

Hi everyone,

it's time for a new Stempelgarten Challenge and the theme for the month November
is «All Kinds of Animals».

Since I desperately need to start making my cards for Christmas I decided to use two gorgeous Memory Box dies.

At first I cut a piece of patterned paper (Kaisercraft «Confetti» Paper Pad). Then I created a window using a Spellbinders circle die. To give it some dimension I adhered the panel with foam pads to the cardbase.

I die-cut the «Leaping Deer» three times from Stampin' Up!'s «Early Espresso» cardstock and used some dimensional adhesive, too. The «Starry Wreath» was cut from KARS Glitter Cardboard and placed directly over the window so it looks like a frame. I also used all the tiny bits from the die-cut to sprinkle around my sentiment which is from Clearly Besotted Stamps («Christmas Sparkle»). I heat embossed it with ZING! «Copper» embossing powder – love that metallic finish!

You will have time until November 30th, 2014 to join our challenge and this is the prize you could win:

A craft package from the Stempelgarten Online Shop with a value of over CHF 20.00.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #299

04.11.2014

Good morning everyone,

it's time for a new theme at the Everybody-Art-Challenge and for this week we want to see some «Gears».

I used this cute little robot from the «Beep Boop Birthday» stamp set by Lawn Fawn to create a birthday card for a boy.

At first I masked of a diagonal stripe on my card base and sponged the area with two Distress Inks («Mowed Lawn» and «Peacock Feathers»). Then I dried it with my heat gun and stamped a couple of the gears in VersaMark ink and heat embossed them in «Liquid Platinum» by Ranger. I left the nuts without embossing powder.

After that I repeatedly stamped the «beep boop birthday» text and a gear in «Fog» ink by Simon Says Stamp. I colored the robot and the present with my Copics and fussy cut both. I stamped the balloon string as a ground directly onto my Distress Ink panel. I then adhered the robot with foam pads. Lastly I stamped the speech bubble and heat embossed the sentiment.

I'd like to join this challenge:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Anything Goes

Thank you so much for stopping by and I'll see you tomorrow with another card.

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #298

28.10.2014

Good morning peeps,

today I can show you my very first Christmas card for this year which I created for the new Everybody-Art-Challenge with the theme «Stars/Crystals».

I used the «Christmas Sparkle» stamp set from Clearly Besotted Stamps and white heat embossed this gorgeous tree which is built out of stars and snowflakes. Then I sponged some Simon Says Stamp «Sea Glass» ink over the tree and also around the edges of my square. The beautiful scripty word «Merry» was cut out of silver foil with one die of the «Merry Christmas Die Collection», also by Clearly Besotted Stamps. The word «christmas» (SSS «Happy» stamp set) is heat embossed in silver («Super Fine Silver Detail Embossing Powder» by Ranger). I matted my square with a piece of grey cardstock («Smoky Slate» by Stampin' Up!) and adhered it with foam tape to my card base. Finally I added some SU rhinestones to get some sparkle.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Same but different #2

25.10.2014

Hi everyone,

at first, I'd like to thank you for all your lovely and encouraging comments on our very first Same but different challenge.

This is the stamp set we used – just perfect in time because Halloween is just around the corner:

And here is my take:

I created a night sky with Distress Inks (Milled Lavender, Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed) and an Ink Blending Tool (all from Ranger). I masked off the moon before creating my background.

Then I stamped the three fun creatures, die-cut the images with the matching dies and colored them with Copics. I thought it would be fun to create some little windows by using the «Peek-a-Boo Trio» Die-namics from My Favorite Things. I die-cut it from Lawn Fawn's «Let's Polka» patterned paper and adhered it with foam tape.

For the sentiment I combined the «happy» word die by Simon Says Stamp and the «halloween» text from the stamp set, which was heat embossed in white. I cut the word twice (out of white and black CS) and created a shadow by slightly shifting them.

Finally I stamped some of the stars in Tsukineko «Delicata Golden Glitz» ink and tied a bow with golden thread.

If you have the same stamp and get inspired by our challenge, feel free to play it with us! Leave a direct link to your project in the comment field below (No back links, please! It will be funnier to see new creations!). You can also upload your cards to our Same but different challenge Flickr gallery!

Thanks to Stéphanie for joining our first challenge and loading up a wonderful card to our Flickr gallery.

Now hop over to Francine to see her gorgeous creation.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!
