Sunny Studio Stamps • Winter Release • Buffalo Plaid

24.10.2019

Hello everyone,

today I'm sharing a pastel Christmas card over on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog. It features the Buffalo Plaid Embossing Folder and one of the cute Merry Mice Stamps. As a little bonus, I added a circle shaker element.

First, I ran the embossing folder with a piece of white cardstock through my die-cutting machine. To enhance the texture of the embossed plaid pattern, I diagonally applied Distress Oxide Inks (Milled Lavender, Spun Sugar and Tumbled Glass) with a soft blending brush. I also added some random ink and white paint splatters.

Next, I stamped the mouse and its hat in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and did some coloring with Copic Markers. I added little dots to the stocking with a white gelly roll pen and used the coordinating dies to cut out the images.

For my shaker element, I die cut three stitched scalloped circle frames from white cardstock using the Fancy Frame Circle Dies. I stacked two of them together to create a more sturdy top frame. I adhered an acetate circle to its back and die cut a narrow circle frame from white fun foam which I adhered with double-sided tape. This will create the right height for the embellishments to move around freely in the shaker. I then taped the last stitched scalloped circle frame to the other side of the fun foam circle (this step is not necessary but this bottom layer made it easier for me to adhere the shaker to the card later).

Now for the fun part of creating a shaker, I picked all kinds of tiny embellishments: Pink & White Clay Heart Confetti as well as sequins and seed beads from my stash. I also adhered some White Pearls and Blue & White Clay Snowflake Confetti to the embossed plaid background, so they won't fell to the bottom of the shaker when the card stands upright.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark Ink onto a banner and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Hello Bluebird • Frosty Littles • Shaker Tag

07.02.2019

Hi again,

I had a left-over piece of an Alcohol Ink background on my table and decided to create a fun little shaker tag using one of the Hello Bluebird Frosty Littles and the Stitched Tag Builder Die.

I colored the cute snowman with Copics and cut him out with the coordinating die. I die cut the tag twice from Petrol cardstock. To create the shaker window, I cut out the stitched rectangle from one of the tags and adhered a piece of acetate behind the opening. I filled my shaker with a sequins mix by Little Things from Lucy's Cards. I also die cut a little snow hill from white glitter paper and adhered it on top of the shaker window with my frosty fellow.

I white heat embossed the sentiment from the Skating Together set on a vellum strip and cut it out with the little banner die included in the Stitched Tag Builder Die set. I die cut a second banner from light blue cardstock and the small pink reinforcement thingy that goes over the tag hole.

Finally, I adhered an organza ribbon and tight a bow with natural jute string where I attached the banners.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a relaxing evening!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #72

15.12.2018

Good morning everyone,

today starts the last challenge for this year over at the bastel-traum.ch blog. The new theme is «Shaker card/Special card shape».
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until January 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

It's also the last challenge for me as a DT member because I decided to step down. Thank you Ute and Tom for having me! Best luck to you and the DT girls ♥

I created this elegant and feminine Christmas shaker card using the beautiful Hero Arts «Deer and Ornament Fancy Die».

For the yummy background, I blended together the Distress Oxide Inks «Tattered Rose», «Worn Lipstick» and «Picked Raspberry». I die cut the negative deers/leafy image from white cardstock and adhered a piece of acetate behind it. The sentiment from the Hello Bluebird «Rooftop Reindeer» set was heat embossed in gold.

To create my shaker, I popped up the die cut panel with foam tape. I filled in pretty sequins and seed beads in clear, gold and pink tones by Little Things from Lucy's Cards.

I'm entering the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge with the theme «Christmas».

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #65

15.05.2018

Good morning everyone,

the month is halfway through – so this means there's time for a new challenge theme over at the bastel-traum.ch blog: «Rainbow Colors/Fantasy».
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until June 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

I love rainbows and created this fun shaker card using the cute Piñata from the Lawn Fawn «Year Seven» stamp set.

A few months ago, Lawn Fawn released the perfect «Really Rainbow» paper pack and I adhered one of the rainbow stripe designs to my card base. For my shaker element, I die cut the largest of the «Stitched Circle Tags» twice from white card stock. I also cut out a circle window from the top layer and adhered a piece of acetate behind it. I filled my shaker with the most gorgeous Rainbow Diamonds and Jewels by Little Things from Lucy's Cards.

I attached the piñata with «Black Tie Single Cord» to the top of the tag, so it would dangle freely if you shake the card. Finally, I white heat embossed the «Happy Birthday» sentiment from the «Hay There» set on a stitched banner (MFT «Stitched Sentiments Strips» Die-namics).

I'm playing along with the current Lawn Fawnatics Card Sketch Challenge:

DT bastel-traum.ch Christmas Blog Hop

24.12.2017

Good morning peeps,

today I'm joining the special Christmas Blog Hop over at the bastel-traum.ch blog with this simple shaker card:

For the very first time, I made a vibrant background with Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Inks. They are so much fun to play with! I also added a bit of «Silver Metallic Mixative» to the blue tones.

I thought it would create a nice winter night sky inside of a little snow globe scene which I created with dies and a matching shaker pouch by My Favorite Things. I cut the «Our Town» die from grey cardstock and adhered it to my alcohol ink background. Next, I white heat embossed the santa sleigh image from Stampin' Up!. I filled the «Dome» shaker pouch with a variety of sequins and seed beads.

The white cardstock panel was cut with one of the «A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2» Die-namics. I heat embossed the sentiment from the «Hand Lettered Holiday» set with silver embossing powder by Ranger.

I invite you to hop along with us for some final Christmas inspiration – here is the complete Blog Hop list:

MFT Camp Create Day 3: Spectacular Shakers

19.06.2017

Hi peeps,

hope you've enjoyed a sunny weekend. I'm glad I could squeeze in another card for My Favorite Things Camp Create.

Spectacular Shakers are the craft for Day 3 and MFT has all the required supplies to easily create them.

https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/camp-create-june-14/

I finally used the adorable Birdie Brown «Mermazing» stamp set. These cute images just make me smile :-)

At first, I stamped one of the mermaids and her little fish friend and colored them with Copics. To create a water background, I quickly draw some wavy lines with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens and blended them with water. I also added some water droplets to lift the color here and there. To complete my little ocean scene, I stamped the three little fishes with «Broken China» Distress Oxide Ink.

For my shaker element, I used the new «Ocean View Porthole» Die-namics (cut from silver foil cardstock) and a circle shaker pouch. Before carefully putting my shaker together, I filled it with sequins and seed beads.

The woodplank paper is from the «Tranquil Textures 6x6 Paper Pack» and I cut it with a rounded stitched rectangle die from the «Blueprints 31» set. Finally, I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine «Onyx Black».

Yay! Here comes my third earned Camp Create Badge!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Guest Designer for My Favorite Things | Take 2

21.10.2016

Hello peeps,

I'm so happy to be back again guest designing on the My Favorite Things blog today with more projects to hopefully inspire you. Thankfully, I was able to use some of the fabulous products from the latest October Release.

At first, I want to show you three cute little holiday tags that I created using the newest Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics. I really love all the dies included in this set because there are so many possibilities.

I've chosen these adorable critters from three different stamp sets. The reindeer is from the new Merry Everything set. The penguin (BB Toasty Greetings) and the polar bear (BB Cool Day) are older Birdie Brown designs which I still adore. I stamped all of the images with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them.

For the background of the reindeer tag I did some Ink Blending with Distress Inks. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Merry Everything set and decorated the tag with some white die-cut stars.

The penguin tag is actually a shaker. Therefore I used the convenient pouches that MFT carries – they just fit perfectly! I created a little scene with the Snowfall - Vertical Die-Namics and the Stitched Basic Edges Die-namics for the hill. The shaker is filled with various sequins and seed beads. I white heat embossed the sentiment on vellum.

For the third tag, I chose the tag die which cuts an opening. I slightly extended it with a craft knife because I wanted to tuck in the polar bear. The heart patterned paper is from the Lucky Prints 6x6 Paper Pack. I heat embossed the sentiment, die cut a banner and then finished off the tag with a glittery heart.

A particular Christmas card design has buzzed around in my head for some weeks. Thanks to the fun images from the Merry Everything stamp set and the Big Hello die, I was able to finally turn it into this card.

I stamped the images, colored them with Copics and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I added some details with a white gelly roll pen and a black Copic Multiliner. Then I die-cut the 'H' and 'O' from several MFT patterned papers. I had to wiggle around a bit to arrange my elements and filled in the open spaces with white heat embossed sentiments and a gift as well as with some die-cut stars.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my projects!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #40

15.04.2016

Hello everyone,

today starts the new bastel-traum.ch Challenge and it's all about «Shaker Cards».
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until May 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

I know shaker cards are still very popular but this is just my second try:

I made a Mother's Day card using these cute owls from the Lawn Fawn «Mom + Me» stamp set. They were colored with Copics and Prismacolor Pencils and I fussy cut them leaving a tiny white border. The sentiment from the same set was stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed with «Liquid Platinum» powder by Ranger. I also added two little pink die-cut hearts.

For my simple shaker element I cut an opening with the My Favorite Things «LJD Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window» Die-namics. I also used the largest Simon Says Stamp «Stitched Rectangle» die to make the panel a bit smaller than my card base. Then I created an ombré background by softly blending some Distress Inks. I adhered a piece of acetate to the back of my window and added lots of foam tape around it before filling in this gorgeous sequins/shaker mix by Little Things from Lucy's Cards.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT Make it Crafty CAS Challenge #3 | Tress Winking

16.07.2015

Happy Thursday everybody,

today I show you my DT card for the current Make it Crafty CAS Challenge #3 with the theme «Shaker Cards».

This is my very first shaker card ever and to be honest, I was a bit nervous in advance ;o)

I chose the pretty «Tress Winking» which is available in rubber and as a digi stamp. I colored her with Copics, fussy cut and cropped the image to make her sit on the bottom of my card.

To create my shaker element, I used the fabulous My Favorite Things «Heart Full of Love» die (which is perfect for shaker cards), a piece of acetate, some fun foam and of course lots of sequins. To finish my card, I added the glittery «you» (made with a Simon Says Stamp die) and a little heart.

You still have time to enter our «Shaker Cards» challenge by the end of the month. You can find all the details HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
