Sunny Studio Stamps • Spring Release • Country Scenes

28.01.2021

Hello everyone,

today I'm featuring the versatile Country Scene Stamps. I picked the mountains with the fir tree border and combined them with the fun Plane Awesome set.

The background colors were inspired by a gorgeous winter sunset. On a piece of Bristol cardstock, I blended together the Distress Oxide Inks Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, Stormy Sky, Tattered Rose, Dried Marigold and Crackling Campfire.

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. The clouds were stamped in Faded Jeans to match the sky background. I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out. The sentiment inside the banner and the larger cut-off cloud are included the Balloon Rides set.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have an awesome day!

Sunny Studio Stamps • Summer Release • Sea You Soon

16.07.2020

Hello everyone,

today I'm back with a fun underwater scene featuring the Sea You Soon mini stamp set. It goes perfectly with the ocean border from the Tropical Scenes set and can be combined with the Best Fishes Stamps as well.

First, I started off with a turquoise A2 card base and created a water background by blending together the Distress Oxide Inks Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch. To add some texture, I sprinkled on water droplets and dabbed them off with a paper tissue.

I had this scene in my head for a while and it still makes me giggle. The shark on the right wanted to surprise his friend with a cupcake (included in the Party Pups set) but this dude thinks of a fishy snack instead ;-)

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored them with Copic Markers and cut everything out using the coordinating dies. The punny sentiment was stamped onto a wide speech bubble (Comic Strip Speech Bubbles Die) in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. For the thought bubble, I used one of the clouds from the Plane Awesome Dies set. I finished off the card with clear enamel dots.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Wishing you a fun-filled day!

Sunny Studio Stamps • Spring Release • Spring Scenes

26.03.2020

Hello everyone,

today I'm back with a card featuring the versatile Sunny Studio Stamps Spring Scenes set which I combined with the Spring Showers Stamps. Looks like these kiddos are having so much fun chasing butterflies in the evening sun.

First, I started with the sunset sky by blending together some Distress Oxide Inks (Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Dried Marigold) on a piece of Bristol cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

Next, I stamped all the images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored them with my Copic Markers and used the coordinating dies to cut everything out. To keep the card flat and easy to mail, I adhered the images and the park scene with liquid glue.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Stay safe and healthy!

Sunny Studio Stamps • Winter Release • Feeling Frosty

12.12.2019

Hello everyone,

the Sunny Studio Stamps Feeling Frosty set is one of my favorites and I already used it a couple of times. So I wanted to come up with something different and tried no-line coloring which I find quite intimidating to be honest.

With the help of some masking, I created a one layer scene. I combined the Feeling Frosty snowmen and cups with the hillside border from the Scenic Route set. For a very light stamped color, I used the Inkon3 Fadeout No Line Coloring Detail Ink. I colored the images with Copic Markers and Prismacolor Pencils.

The sky was done by blending Distress Oxide Inks (Milled Lavender and Spun Sugar) and splattering white paint with a brush. I cut one of the Fancy Frames Square Dies from white cardstock to frame my little winter scene.

I think the sentiment is the perfect match for these snowman friends who share a cup of hot cocoa together. It's stamped in VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. I die cut a stitched banner and adhered it with foam tape. To finish off my card, I added White Clay Snowflakes and a Pink Clay Heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Wishing you a beautiful day!

https://sunnystudiostamps.com/products/scenic-route-stamps

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. Aren't these snowmen and little houses just the cutest?! I used the Feeling Frosty Dies and Scenic Route Dies (which only cut the top of the images) to cut everything out.

For the background, I picked a snowfall paper from the Holiday Cheer 6x6 Paper pack. I stamped one of the sentiments in VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

I adhered the row of houses to the back and popped up the snowy hills and snowmen with foam tape to create dimension.

Sunny Studio Stamps • Summer Release • Seasonal Trees

27.06.2019

Hi everyone,

today I'm highlighting the Sunny Studio Stamps Seasonal Trees set which is perfect for scenes all year round. There are trees for every season as well as some fun little accessory images. The possibilities are endless.

I created a scene combining the summer tree, birdhouse, log, apple and birdies with the Home Sweet Gnome Stamps.

I started off with an A2 card base made from light grey cardstock and cut a white mat using the stitched scalloped die from the Frilly Frames Stripes set. Next, I did some blending with Distress Oxide Inks for the sky (Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean) and grass (Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn). To create the grassy borders I used a die from the Comic Strip Everyday set. I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark Ink and white heat embossed it.

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I also die cut two clouds with the Fluffy Clouds Dies to complete my scene. I adhered all images and popped some of them up with foam tape. A small red heart finished off the card which I truly enjoyed creating.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Hello Bluebird • June Release

26.06.2019

Hi peeps,

it's almost time to shop the Hello Bluebird June Release – the new products will be available at 7:00 pm MST.

This release is jam-packed with adorable critters, fun summer-themed stamps and unique dies. The DT created gorgeous inspiration projects for the four Preview Days.

Preview Day 1 – Strawberry Jam and Field Mice

These two stamp sets are designed to work perfectly together! I especially love the strawberry vine frame cut out die and all the little accessories (that tiny knife though)!

I stamped the images, colored them with Copics and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. In the background, I did some ink blending with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink. The blanket was die cut from dotty patterned paper. I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black ink in the right bottom corner. For some dimension, I adhered the strawberry vine frame with foam tape.

Preview Day 2 – Seaside Girls

For this card, I created a little beach scene with one of the cute girls, the seagulls and the grab. I also combined parts of the Ocean Scene Die and the Gallery Frame #4 Die.

I colored the images with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies. The sand and wave die-cuts were colored/sponged with Distress Oxide Inks (sand: Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap; waves, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers). For the sky, I used the cloud border from the scene builder die set as a stencil. I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with Liquid Platinum embossing powder. The pinked frame was cut from navy cardstock and adhered with foam tape.

Preview Day 3 – Storybook Friends

How adorable are these storybook-like images?! The background scene is really special and adds to the whimsical look.

Everything is colored with Copics and cut out with the coordinating dies. I really like this beautiful friendship sentiment which I stamped in the middle of the background scene with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

Preview Day 4 – More Jungle Littles

Oh, how I love this new addition of incredibly cute critters! Of course they go well with the original Jungle Littles set.

First, I created an ink blended background with Distress Oxide Inks (Scattered Straw, Carved Pumpkin, Ripe Persimmon, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire). I'm really pleased with the result! Next, I die cut the Wild About You Words four times from cream cardstock and stacked the layers on top of each other to create dimension. I colored the images with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

I hope you enjoyed these cards as much as I did when I was creating them. You can find even more DT samples over on the Hello Bluebird blog.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy shopping ;-)

Hello Bluebird • July Release • Fishin' Hole

28.07.2018

Hi peeps,

today I'm sharing another card using new products from the latest Hello Bluebird July Release. This card features the adorable Fishin' Hole stamps and companion dies as well as the Gallery Frame #2 Die and Pond Builder Die.

These supplies are just perfect to create a scene. First, I die cut the two frames - the scalloped one from brown cardstock and the other from light brown woodgrain cardstock. Next, I did some ink smooshing and blending with Distress Oxide Inks to create the water and bushes which I cut with one of the Pond Builder dies. I also ink blended the sky directly onto my card base.

I colored the stamped images with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies. Then I assembled my card, inlaid the die cuts and popped up some of the images with foam tape. Finally, I added some water bubbles with clear «Morning Dew» Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy Weekend!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #66

15.06.2018

Good morning everyone,

today starts a new challenge over at the bastel-traum.ch blog and the theme is «Hobby/Leisure».
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until July 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

The latest Lawn Fawn release was phenomenal and I loved creating with one of my favorite stamp sets which is called «You Are Sublime». The little diver is just the cutest and of course the submarine had to be yellow.

I created an Alcohol Ink background using aqua, blue and a bit of purple and green tones. Next, I stamped, Copic colored and die cut the images for my underwater scene (BTW, the shell is from the «Life Is Good» set). I white heat embossed the sentiment from the «Elphie Selfie» set on a thin strip of black cardstock.

For some shine, I added Glossy Accents to the bubbles, swimming goggles and submarine portholes. To finish off my card, I adhered two sparkly faceted crystals by Little Things from Lucy's Cards and a Brutus Monroe two-tone pearl.

I'm entering the current Lawn Fawnatics Cards for Guys challenge:

Hello Bluebird • Piggy Picnic

31.05.2018

Good morning everyone,

I finally got my hands on the new products from the Hello Bluebird May Release. And what can I say, I just LOVE them all!

I made this card using these adorable pigs from the Farmyard Little Bits stamp set. They are sitting on a polka dot blanket (from the Hippos on Holiday set) enyoing a little cupcake picnic. I did some masking to create my scene. Since I haven't done the No Line Coloring technique for quite a while, I used it for a change. I combined Copics and Prismacolor pencils for details. I tried the new-to-me «Fadeout No Line Coloring» ink by Ink On 3 and I really like it.

In the background, I did some light ink blending using the Tim Holtz Distress Blending Brushes which are great for this. Next, I die cut the My Favorite Things «Snow Globe» shape from «Subtle Plaids» patterned paper. I directly adhered my colored scene to the card base and popped up the plaid window panel with foam tape. The sentiment from the Farmyard Little Bits stamp set was heat embossed in white on a small banner. Finally, I added two die cut clouds (Puddle Play Die) and a small pink heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

MFT Card Design Superstar Contest Coloring Virtuoso

20.09.2017

Good morning everyone,

I made a second card for the ongoing My Favorite Things 2017 Card Design Superstar contest.

https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/you-could-be-a-2017-card-design-superstar/

I'm entering the Coloring Virtuoso category with an one layer card that I colored with Copics and Prismacolor Pencils.

I used four! different Birdie Brown stamp sets to build the entire scene – «Cool Cat», «Our Story», «I Knead You» and «Lucky Dog». I love how perfectly all those images fit together, just as if they were from one set. And I always enjoy coloring them in, too!

This card is pretty much CAS but with a fun little twist because I wanted to tell a story. At first, I stamped and masked all the images. I don't make scenes like this often, so I really had to plan everything in advance. After all the images were protected by hand-cut masks, I sponged some «Insulation Pink» Premium Dye Ink through the «All Lined Up» stencil to create the subtle striped wall background. It's always like magic when you remove the masks :-)

Next, I carefully colored in my scene. I gave the dog's pillow a denim texture and added little details with a white gelly roll pen. The flower vase and the dog's nose are covered with Glossy Accents for some extra shine. I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with Ranger «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder. To finish off my card, I also put on small Nuvo «Rosewater» Jewel Drops.

Big thanks to MFT for hosting this amazing contest – there are already so many creative and outstanding submissions!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Good luck to everyone!

Guest Designer for My Favorite Things | Take 1

20.10.2016

Hi everyone,

Woohoo! Finally, I can share my exciting news with you :-) I'm so thrilled and honored to be a guest designer over at the My Favorite Things blog.

When I got the invitation I was totally surprised, overwhelmed and happy! I absolutely love the versatile MFT products and the talented DT ladies always amaze me with their inspirational projects. Thank you so much for having me!

I made three cards using stamp sets with the most gorgeous illustrations.

Like many of you, I'm a huge fan of Torico and her Birdie Brown line – each set is just so cute! Here is my first project:

I created this fall card using the Birdie Brown Harvest Mouse stamps. The stitched frame is from the Blueprints 29 Die-namics set and I die-cut it three times from white cardstock to make it sturdy and dimensional. I stamped the images so they would fit perfectly in the little windows. Next, I colored these adorable mice with Copics, masked them off and did some Ink Blending with warm-toned MFT Premium Dye Inks. I stamped the "Happy Birthday" from the Essential Sentiments set in brown. The pretty paper is from the Plaid Patterns 6x6 Paper Pack.

For my second card I set up a little kitchen scene with the fabulous Birdie Brown Recipe For Happiness stamp set and coordinating dies. For the background I used the English Brick Wall Stencil and sponged Brick Red and Chili Powder Dye Ink onto some Kraft cardstock. The coloring was done with Copics again. I like to add some dots with a white gelly roll pen. The frame for my chalkboard and the little twig are from the Lisa Johnson Designs Make Yourself at Home stamp set.

The third card is pretty much Clean and Simple but with a little twist. To create a small scene I did some Masking here and there while stamping the images from the London Mouse set. I stamped them with VersaMark ink on Kraft cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I also did some Spotlight Stamping. Therefore I white heat embossed one of the houses again on red cardstock and die-cut a heart (Blueprints 27 Die-namics). Finally, I adhered it on top of the house from the scene. The sentiment is from the LJD Make Yourself at Home set and I stamped it in black.

I had so much fun making these cards and will be back tomorrow with some more inspiration.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT Stempelgarten Challenge August

05.08.2016

Good morning everyone,

today starts the new Stempelgarten Challenge with the theme «Flowers/Plants».

http://stempelgartenchallenge.blogspot.ch/

I created a square card using the adorable Birdie Brown «You Gnome Me» stamp set and some other fun products from My Favorite Things.

This is the second time that I colored with my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I love how easy they blend but I'm still hesitating to use them more loosely for a real watercolor look. I fussy cut all the images and added some white dots with a gelly roll pen. Then I cut a little pot for the flower arrangement with the «Perfect Planters» Die-namics from a piece of wood veneer paper.

The background was made with the «English Brick Wall» stencil and Simon Says Stamp «Fog» ink which is such a nice light grey. I quickly colored a strip of watercolor paper in green, let it dry and cut it with a «Grassy Edges» die. The birthday sentiment is from the «Adorable Elephants» set and I heat embossed it in white on black cardstock which I cut into a banner shape.

Finally, I assembled my little scene. I popped up the colored images with foam tape for more dimension and adhered some enamel stickers from Create A Smile.

You will have time until August 31st, 2016 to join our challenge and this is the prize you could win:

A craft package from the Stempelgarten Online Shop with a value of CHF 20.–.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

DT Make it Crafty CAS Challenge #13 | Summer Scene

16.05.2016

Hi everyone,

today I want to share with you my card for the Make it Crafty Clean and Simple Challenge with the theme «Summer».

I created a scene by combining the Summer Dreams Digi Stamp with the Rainbow Meadow Digi Stamp. The blue sky was sponged with «Tumbled Glass» Distress Ink after masking off the other parts of my scene which I colored with Copics afterwards.

The sentiment was put together with a stamp from Avery Elle («Sentimental») and a Simon Says Stamp die cut.

You still have time to enter our «Summer» challenge by the end of the month. You can find all the details HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT Stempelgarten Challenge May

05.05.2016

Good morning everyone,

it's again time for the Stempelgarten Challenge and the new theme for this month is «Animals/Critters».

http://stempelgartenchallenge.blogspot.ch/

Today we celebrate Father's Day in Germany and this is the card that I made for my beloved dad:

I created a little scene using some fabulous My Favorite Things products. This cute bear is from the «Forest Friends» stamp set and I colored him with Copics. I cut the trees from chevron patterned paper and woodgrain cardstock using the «Treemendous» Die-namics. I love the stitching detail and sponged some matching inks on the edges.

For the background I used the largest of the «Inside & Out Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX» Die-namics. I die cut it twice – once from Stampin' Up! «Naturals White» cardstock and a second time from Neenah «Solar White Smooth» cardstock. I'm a huge fan of Melania Deasy – everything she creates is just gorgeous! I admire her soft and perfectly ink blended backgrounds and gave it a try, too. The MFT Premium Dye Inks work really well for this.

I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark and heat embossed it with «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder by Ranger. Finally, I assembled my card by inlaying the ink blended background into the «Naturals White» frame. The trees were directly glued to the background and the bear was fussy cut and adhered with foam tape.

You will have time until May 31st, 2016 to join our challenge and this is the prize you could win:

A craft package from the Stempelgarten Online Shop with a value of CHF 20.–.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

My Favorite Things Moose Wonderful Time of the Year

09.12.2015

Hi peeps,

I couldn't resist this adorable Birdie Brown «Merry Christmoose» stamp set from My Favorite Things. This moose is just the cutest and I created a cozy Christmas scene with the help of Masking and combined him with the tree and the carpet from the same set.

I added the little deer and the gifts from the «Jingle All the Way» set which is an older holiday favorite designed by Birdie Brown/Torico. I colored the scene with Copics and also used a white gel pen for some fun details like the dots on the mug. The deer's nose and the star on top of the tree were covered with Glossy Accents. I embellished the tree with several pearls from Doodlebug. The sentiment was stamped with VersaFine «Onyx Black» – just the perfect ink for crisp and detailed impressions.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
