DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #50

15.02.2017

Good morning everyone,

it's already time for another challenge over at the bastel-traum.ch Blog. We invite you to choose between or even combine the themes «Birthday / Birth / White and one color of your choice»
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until March 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

I made a CAS card to welcome a baby girl by re-creating this card which I made almost 3 years ago ;-)

I cut four strips from different shades of pink Stampin' Up! cardstock using a My Favorite Things Blueprints 29 die. Next, I temporarily adhered them to a piece of scratch paper with the same spacing in between. I placed the Papertrey Ink «Wonderful Words: Baby» die on top of my ombré stripes and run it through my die-cutting machine. I carefully removed the die and made sure I didn't loose any of the tiny cut-outs from between the letters.

To create some dimension, I die cut the word «baby» five times from white cardstock and stacked all layers on top of each other. I adhered it to my card base at an angle and then inlaid the cardstock stripes. It really took a little patience, but it was so worth it in the end. Finally, I added a white heat embossed sentiment (which means «Congratulations»; Dani Peuss Klartext-Stempel «Glückwunsch») and a small die-cut heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

DT Make it Crafty CAS Challenge #14 | Acetate Card

16.06.2016

Hi everyone,

today I want to share with you the card that I made for the current Make it Crafty Clean and Simple Challenge with the theme «Clear Plastic/Acetate».

For my card base I used one of the handy Hero Arts acetate cards. At first, I cut the My Favorite Things «Snow Drifts Cover-Up» Die-namics from pink cardstock. I carefully adhered it to the card front with «Multi-Medium Matte» by Ranger. Then I decorated it with the fabulous Outlined Words With Love Chipboards. I heat embossed the outline of the word «love» and also the hearts with white embossing powder. The word itself was heat embossed in black. I added a banner with a white embossed Papertrey Ink sentiment.

For the inside of my card I tried a fun Marbling technique which was introduced to me by the talented Kara Vrabel (she used several spray mists) some weeks ago. I took a flat plastic container and filled it with water. Then I lightly spritzed it with Ranger Adirondack Color Wash Spray in «Cranberry» and swirled it around with the end of a paint brush. I grabbed a piece of white cardstock and quickly placed it on the surface of the water and removed it right away. I let it air dry completely before adhering it to the inside of my card. The effect is really cool and I like to try it again with some other mediums and colors.

I cut a second piece of white cardstock in the same size and adhered it to the back of my card to hide the glue. Since the card is transparent you could write your message on the back.

There's still time to enter our «Clear Plastic/Acetate» challenge by the end of the month. You can find all the details HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

December Pinterest Inspired Challenge

01.12.2015

Hi peeps,

today starts the December Pinterest Inspired Challenge. Because of the upcoming holidays it will run for 2 months (closes on Monday, 01/25/2016).

This is the fabulous inspiration photo:

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/526780487634761760/

And here is the card I created:

I was inspired by all the different colorful patterns and remembered a digi stamp I had in my folder. The image is called «African Woman» and I purchased it in the DigiStampAtelier Etsy Shop.

For the first time I colored dark skin with my Copics. You can't see it on the photo but I added some Glossy Accents to her lips. I cut the scalloped frame from black cardstock using a Mama Elephant die («Femme Frames»). The patterned paper is from the Glitz 6"x6" «Yours Truly» paper pack.

The sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink «Signature Greetings II» set and it was stamped in VersaFine «Onyx Black». I adhered everything to my white top folding card base and wrapped some May Arts Natural Jute String around it and tied a bow. I fussy cut the image leaving a white border and popped it up with foam tape.

Can't wait to see your creations – there will be prices for one lucky winner (gift certificate) and a randomly picked commenter (stamps set), too! For the challenge details and the inspiring work of my lovely team mates please hop over to the PIC blog.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy Crafting!

DT Make it Crafty CAS Challenge #6 | Jenny Cheers

16.10.2015

Hi everyone,

today I want to show you the card I've made for the Make it Crafty CAS Challenge #6 with the theme «Bright Colors».

I created a girly card with the cute Jenny Cheers Digi Stamp which I colored in with my Copics. I also added some hair strands/details with brown Prismacolor Pencils because a couple of my darker Copic markers are clogged :-( and some areas of the image are pretty small.

The light blue shadow around the image was made with Chalk which I haven't used for ages. I stamped my birthday sentiment from Papertrey Ink  with Versafine «Onyx Black» for a nice and crisp impression.

To cut out the panel I used my favorite «Stitched Rectangle» die from Simon Says Stamp. The card base was made of SSS «Doll Pink» cardstock.

You still have time to enter our «Bright Colors» challenge by the end of the month. You can find all the details HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #323

05.05.2015

Good morning peeps,

the new theme for the Everybody-Art-Challenge is an easy peasy one – «Happy Birthday». That's the most common occasion I create cards for, I think.

I hope I don't bore you ;o) but here comes my third card using the same arrangement of Papertrey Ink's «Doodlie-do» stamps. I can't get enough of these pretty flowers *hehe*.

This time, I white heat embossed them onto «Bermuda Bay» cardstock from Stampin' Up!. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Stamps («Fabulous Fuchsias») and I stamped it in Versafine «Onyx Black».

Why not give this birthday card to a man? What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and see you later with a second post.

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #320

14.04.2015

Good morning,

it's Tuesday again and we have a new theme over at the Everybody-Art-Challenge – we want to see some «Pearls» on your creations.

Only a few weeks ago, I already created this card for the Same but different challenge using the beautiful «Doodlie-do» stamp set by Papertrey Ink.

Since the stamps were still mounted to my Fiskars stamp press, I decided to re-create the card because I really liked the arrangement. This time I heat embossed the flowers in «Cameo Coral» from Stampin' Up! on a piece of Bazzill «Taffy» cardstock. Then I die-cut the word «Happy» («Tipped Top Dies» by Papertrey Ink) directly from my panel. Below that negative I stamped and heat embossed the «birthday» sentiment from the PTI «Keep it Simple: Birthday» stamp set.

I adhered my panel to a «Cameo Coral» card base using lots of foam tape. To comply to the challenge theme, I added some matching Doodlebug pearls.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Same but different #7

30.03.2015

Hi everyone,

it's time again for our monthly «Same but different» challenge. Do you want to know more about this challenge? Please click HERE.

This time we used the beautiful «Doodlie-do» stamp set from Papertrey Ink:

And here is my take:

At first, I wanted to color in all these pretty flowers but then I thought they would also look great on vellum, which I cut to the same size as my ivory cardstock. I arranged the single images on my Fiskars stamp press, stamped them in VersaMark ink and heat embossed everything with white embossing powder. On the back of my card, I adhered the vellum with double-sided tape. Because of the soft and elegant look, I decided to make this a wedding card. So I stamped the «Happy For You» sentiment, which I also heat embossed in white and added some sparkling clear and golden Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

If you have the same stamp set and get inspired by our challenge, feel free to play it with us! Leave a direct link to your project in the comment field below (No back links, please! It will be funnier to see new creations!). You can also upload your cards to our Same but different challenge Flickr gallery!
