MFT Stamps • April Release Day

12.04.2022

Hello everyone,

the My Favorite Things April Release Day is finally here and all the new products are now available for purchase.

I picked another fabulous stamp set for my final card – it is called Top of the World. I really love those cute tiny images!

To put the images into focus I created a vignette background (which gets darker towards the edges) with Distress Inks (Prize Ribbon, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot) I stamped the sentiment at the bottom using VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

Next, I stamped the images in Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and colored them with Copic markers. I cut everything out with the coordinating Top of the World Die-namics. I tucked the animals and trees behind the earth and added a tiny red heart to the center.

Check out the MFT blog for more inspiration from the talented Design Team. To explore even more ideas, product details and tutorials, please visit the MFT YouTube channel.

Hello Bluebird • Skating Party • Have an ice day

07.12.2018

Hi everyone,

today, I'm back with a card using fun new products from the Hello Bluebird November Release. On my winter card I used the Skating Party set and the Skating Pond Scene Die.

For the background, I blended together blue Distress Inks and let it fade out toward the bottom of the panel. Next, I die cut the scene pieces from several cardstocks. It's so easy to put a scene like this together.

I love these adorable ice skating critters which I colored with Copics and cut out with the Skating Party companion dies. Finally, I stamped the sentiment on the card and heat embossed it with Ranger «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hello Bluebird • Away in a Manger • Joy to the World

11.10.2018

Hi again,

I have another card to share with you using one of the older Hello Bluebird stamp sets which are of course lovely, too.

I re-created a card that I made for the first «Same but different» Challenge that I run together with my sweet friend Francine. I thought this design would be perfect for the two cute angels from the Away In A Manger set.

For the sunburst background, I used an embossing folder from the Lifestyle Crafts «Celebrate» set. I stamped the Country Gingham Background with «Tattered Rose» Distress Oxide Ink. I added the sentiment in black and cut the heart shape using the middle sized die of the Lawn Fawn «Outside In Stitched Heart Stackables». For some dimension, I popped up the heart with foam tape.

I colored the angels with Copics and cut them out using the companion dies. I adhered them on each side of the heart. Finally, I embellished my card with «Ice Cube Mix» Jewels by Little Things from Lucy's Cards and Nuvo «Rose Water» Jewel Drops.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Stay tuned for the amazing Hello Bluebird October Release which goes live tomorrow!

Hello Bluebird • July Release • Fishin' Hole

28.07.2018

Hi peeps,

today I'm sharing another card using new products from the latest Hello Bluebird July Release. This card features the adorable Fishin' Hole stamps and companion dies as well as the Gallery Frame #2 Die and Pond Builder Die.

These supplies are just perfect to create a scene. First, I die cut the two frames - the scalloped one from brown cardstock and the other from light brown woodgrain cardstock. Next, I did some ink smooshing and blending with Distress Oxide Inks to create the water and bushes which I cut with one of the Pond Builder dies. I also ink blended the sky directly onto my card base.

I colored the stamped images with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies. Then I assembled my card, inlaid the die cuts and popped up some of the images with foam tape. Finally, I added some water bubbles with clear «Morning Dew» Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy Weekend!

DT Stempelgarten Challenge April

05.04.2018

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We enjoyed some precious family time and finally warmer temperatures outside. Which brings me to our new Stempelgarten Challenge with the theme «Spring».

http://stempelgartenchallenge.blogspot.ch/

I made this CAS card with some of my beloved My Favorite Things products. The chick and the bunny are from the «Hoppy Friends» set – I really like the smaller stamp sets that MFT  is releasing lately.

I colored these cuties with Copics and fussy cut them out with scissors. For my background, I masked off a rectangle and did some blending with Distress Inks. The sky was made with the help of the «Cloud» stencil. I stamped the sentiment from the «Handwritten Happiness» set directly on top using VersaFine «Onyx Black» ink.

You will have time until April 30th, 2018 to join the Stempelgarten Challenge and this is the prize you could win:

A craft package from the Stempelgarten Online Shop with a value of CHF 20.–.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #59

15.11.2017

Hello everyone,

today we have a brandnew challenge theme over at the bastel-traum.ch blog – «Winter/Christmas/Starshine».
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until December 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

For my holiday card, I created a cute scene using the adorable critters from the Mama Elephant «Whimsical Winter» set.

I had so much fun stamping, Copic coloring and fussy cutting all the images! For my snowfall background, I combined some white splatters and Distress Inks («Broken China», «Tumbled Glass» and «Milled Lavender») which I blended together on a piece of Bristol cardstock. I also added three little die-cut hearts and some random Nuvo «White Blizzard» Glitter Drops which you unfortunately can't see on the photo.

To create the snow hills, I used two of the stitched Mama Elephant «Landscape Trio» dies and cut them from white cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the «Merry Greetings» set on the front snowhill and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. For some dimension, I popped it up with foam tape. Finally, I adhered all the stamped images to finish off my winter scene.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

DT Stempelgarten Challenge October

05.10.2017

Good morning,

Phew! Time goes by really fast these days and we have already October! There's a new and fun theme over at the Stempelgarten Challenge: «Spooky».

http://stempelgartenchallenge.blogspot.ch/

I created this Halloween card combining some cute My Favorite Things stamps with a detailed Impression Obsession die and a Distress Ink night sky.

For the dark background, I blended together the Distress Inks «Black Soot», «Chipped Sapphire» and «Seedless Preserves». To give it a bit of texture, I sprinkled on some water droplets. Next, I cut a spooky scene from black glitter cardstock using the Impression Obsession «Halloween Hill» die. I put small pieces of yellow cardstock behind the windows and the pumpkin. I also did some shading with Copics so it looks as if the lights were glowing.

To create the circle window, I used a die from the MFT «Starry Circle» set and cut it from white cardstock. I added another stitched detail by using the rectangle die from the «Blueprints 29» set. I adhered the glitter die-cut behind my window opening and for more dimension, I popped everything up with foam tape.

I stamped and colored the cat and pumpkin images from the adorable Birdie Brown «Witch Way Is The Candy?» set. The sentiment was heat embossed with Ranger «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder.

You will have time until October 31st, 2017 to join our challenge and this is the prize you could win:

A craft package from the Stempelgarten Online Shop with a value of CHF 20.–.

My Favorite Things Birdie Brown Bitty Bears

18.09.2017

Hello everyone,

So glad, that I'm finally feeling well enough to get some crafting done :-)

Today I want to share with you the card that I made for the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge.

I had so much fun to play with the sketch:

http://www.cardchallenges.com/2017/09/wednesday-sketch-challenge-sketch-350.html

At first, I colored two of the cute MFT Birdie Brown «Bitty Bears» with Copics and fussy cut them out. For the white background panel, I dry embossed the retired «Snow Drifts Cover-Up» die. I randomly added lots of Heidi Swapp «Color Shine» splatters in sparkling Gold. Instead of the circles shown in the sketch, I decided to incoporate some Distress Ink colored fall leaves (cut with the «Falling Leaves» Die-namics).

The striped paper is from the «Black & White Basics» 6x6 Paper Pack. I white heat embossed the sentiment from the «Beary Big Adventure» stamp set on a piece of black cardstock. To cut the fishtail banner shape, I used a die from the «Blueprints 27» set. I cut it a second time from gold glitter cardstock to put it behind the popped up sentiment strip.

Thank you so much for stopping by! See you soon ;-)

DT Stempelgarten Challenge July

05.07.2017

Good morning,

Summer is in full swing and today starts a new Stempelgarten Challenge with the theme «Anything that flies».

http://stempelgartenchallenge.blogspot.ch/

I came up with this card using the plane and banner from the lovely Memory Box «Flying High» stamp set.

For the colorful background, I blended together Distress Inks («Salty Ocean» and «Tumbled Glass» at the top) and Distress Oxide Inks («Fossilized Amber» and «Worn Lipstick» at the bottom). I also added sprinkles of water to lift the color here and there.

I colored the stamped images with Copics, fussy cut everything out and popped it up with foam tape. To complete my sky scene, I adhered die-cut clouds (My Favorite Things «Puffy Clouds» Die-namics). I also added two red die-cut hearts and some small Nuvo Crystal Drops in white.

The striped paper is from the MFT «Black & White Basics» 6x6 paper pack which creates a nice neutral contrast to the summer colors on my card.

You will have time until July 31st, 2017 to join our challenge and this is the prize you could win:

A craft package from the Stempelgarten Online Shop with a value of CHF 20.–.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have an uplifting day!

MFT Camp Create Day 4: Sensational Sliders

21.06.2017

Hello everyone,

Phew! I was sweating in my craft room creating another card for My Favorite Things Camp Create.

For Day 4 the craft is Sensational Sliders. To be honest, I rarely make this kind of interactive cards, so it took me quite a while ;-)

I created a little ocean scene with the «You Float My Boat» stamps and coordinating dies, Distress Inks and some additional MFT products.

At first, I stamped the cute sail boat with MFT Premium Dye Inks (Blueberry, Blu Raspberry and Chili Powder) and the help of my MISTI. Next, I blended together three Distress Inks (Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch) and added lots of water sprinkles. When everything was completely dry, I cut some waves with the «Stitched Scallop Edges» Die-namics and white heat embossed the sentiment.

The most tricky part was to construct the hidden slider channel for my boat. I really used a lot of foam tape on this card :-)

For the sun in the background, I did some faded Ink Blending with Lemon Chiffon and Insulation Pink. I stamped the birds from the «Party Like A Pirate» set in VersaFine «Onyx Black» and adhered two die-cut and shaded clouds («Cloud 9» Die-namics) with foam tape.

And here is my fourth Camp Create Badge! Woot woot!

Thank you so much for stopping by! See ya soon!

MFT Camp Create Day 2: Remarkable Resist

17.06.2017

Hello everyone,

it's almost too hot for crafting, but I managed to create a new card for the My Favorite Things Camp Create.

For Day 2 it's all about Emboss Resist which is one of my favorite techniques in combo with watercoloring.

https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/camp-create-june-13/

I chose the MFT «Etched Flower Background» and heat embossed it on Tim Holtz «Distress Watercolor Cardstock» with clear embossing powder. Love all the detail of this pretty stamp!

I applied a wash of water all over my heat embossed panel and randomly spread the Distress Oxide Inks with a paint brush. I absolutely like how well the colors «Broken China», «Wilted Violet» and «Worn Lipstick» fit together. In-between, I dried the watercoloring with my heat gun and added layer by layer.

After letting my watercolor panel dry completely, I cut it with the largest rectangle die from the «Blueprints 1» set. For the sentiment, I die cut the word «hugs» from the «Words for Friends» Die-namics and used the negative which I popped up with tiny pieces of foam tape.

To embellish my card, I added some clear iridescent sequins in different sizes and a little butterfly.

And this is my second Camp Create Badge :-)

Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope you'll have a fantastic weekend!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #54

15.06.2017

Good morning peeps,

it's the 15th of the month and this means we have a new theme over at the bastel-traum.ch Blog: we invite you to create something WATER-themed.
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until July 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

I made this fun birthday card by creating an underwater scene with Avery Elle products and Distress Inks.

For the ocean background, I blended together «Mermaid Lagoon», «Salty Ocean», «Blueprint Sketch» and «Faded Jeans» on Tim Holtz «Distress Watercolor Cardstock». I generously sprinkled on water droplets and dabbed them off with a paper towel.

The Avery Elle «Horizontal Stripes» die is so much fun – not only because of the striped design but it also cuts this circle window and comes with the «hooray» word die. I stamped all these adorable creatures from the «Swim Team» set and colored them with Copics. I fussy cut them out and arranged them in the circle window – a couple of images were popped up with foam tape for more dimension.

I thought it would be fun to add a balloon to my scene and the Doodlebug «Balloons Shape Sprinkles» are just perfect. I tied some string around the balloon's end and attached it behind the whale's fin so it looks like he is holding it.

For my birthday sentiment, I combined a stacked (3 layers of white cardstock and 1 layer of silver glitter cardstock) «hooray» die-cut with a silver heat embossed sentiment by Simon Says Stamp («Happy & Smile» stamp set). Finally, I applied Nuvo «Moonlight Dew» Crystal Drops which dry perfectly round and clear.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Whale

30.05.2017

Hi peeps,

it's been pretty hot over the last couple of days, so here is a little refreshment ;-) Made this masculine birthday card by combining products from several companies.

I've colored the whale from the Paper Smooches «Surf and Turf» with Copics and fussy cut him out. Next, I created an ink blended background using «Tumbled Glass» Distress Ink. I added some water spatters to lift the color here and there. The «Happy Birthday!» sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp «Circle Sayings» set and I stamped it in VersaMark and heat embossed it with Ranger «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder.

I die cut two Lawn Fawn «Ocean Wave Borders» from patterned paper by My Favorite Things. To add some stitched details, I used the MFT «Wonky Stitched Rectangle» Die-namics. The word «celebrate» was cut from navy cardstock with a gorgeous scripty Avery Elle «Sentiments» die.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Stay cool!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #53

15.05.2017

Hello everyone,

today starts a new challenge over at the bastel-traum.ch Blog and it's all about Men/Boys.
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until June 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

It's always challenging to create those masculine cards, so I decided to play with the fabulous new Distress Oxide Inks and the «Emboss Resist Technique» for my dad's Father's Day card.

At first, I stamped the Simon Says Stamp «Lattice Grid» background on a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I applied several layers of the Distress Oxide Inks «Broken China» and «Cracked Pistachio» – these two colors go so well together!

For my sentiment, I combined the layered SSS «Love» die (cut from navy and white cardstock) with a text from the «More Sketchy Banner Greetings» stamp set that I white heat embossed on vellum. I assembled my card, added a thin strip of navy cardstock and rounded the corners with a punch.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great start into the new week!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #52

15.04.2017

Good morning peeps,

we have a new challenge theme over at the bastel-traum.ch Blog – this time we invite you to create something for Mother’s Day or a project for a woman/girl.
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until May 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

I made a Mother's Day card for my mom. She likes owls as much as I do and this cutie is from the My Favorite Things «I’m Owl Yours» stamp set.

I also stamped the branch from the MFT «Harvest Buddies» set and colored both images with my Copics. Since I don’t have the coordinating dies, I did some fussy cutting.

For the watercolor background, I used the brand new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks «Worn Lipstick» and «Wilted Violet». I love their chalky finish. When everything was completely dry, I heat embossed the sentiment from the MFT «BB Happy Hedgehog» set with «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder by Ranger.

Next, I cut a frame using the largest MFT «Single Stitch Line Rectangle Frame» die. I popped up my colored images with foam tape and added two little die-cut hearts as a finishing touch.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Wishing you a very HAPPY EASTER!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #49

15.01.2017

Hi everyone,

today starts a new bastel-traum.ch Challenge and this time it's all about «Friends» :-)
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until February 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

I created this scene using some fabulous My Favorite Things products as well as my Distress Inks for a beautiful ink blended night sky.

I stamped the adorable girl and her cute dog from the MFT Birdie Brown «You Have My Heart» set and colored them with Copics. I fussy cut the image leaving a small white border and added a bit of sparkle to her blue dress with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen.

For the Distress Ink background, I patiently blended together the gorgeous colors Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire and a little bit of MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. When everything was completely dry, I used the MFT «Stars in the Sky - Horizontal» Die-namics right onto my ink blended panel. I also die-cut the stars from golden glitter cardstock and inlaid them into the negative.

The text from the MFT «Essential Sentiments» set (one of my current favorites) was heat embossed in white. Finally, I adhered the image with foam tape and added a red die-cut heart which I covered with Glossy Accents.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Enjoy your Sunday!

Poppystamps House in the Woods

22.12.2016

Hi peeps,

it has been a busy time the last couple of days! But before I enjoy the upcoming holidays, I wanted to share a last Christmas card with you.

I just love this gorgeous «House in the Woods» die from Poppystamps. It's perfect to build a simple scene and looks great in combination with a watercolor background. I used Distress Inks («Peacock Feathers», «Mermaid Lagoon», «Blueprint Sketch» and «Seedless Preserves») and added some random splatters of white paint.

Next, I heat embossed the sentiment (which means «Merry Christmas»; Dani Peuss Klartext-Stempel «Fröhliche Weihnachtszeit») with Ranger «Liquid Platinum» embossing powder. Finally, I popped up my die-cut panel with foam tape.

I'm joining the fun over at Simon Says Stamp where one can upload holiday cards celebrating the National Christmas Card Day.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

DT Make it Crafty CAS Inspiration | Rudolf Reindeer

18.11.2016

Hi peeps,

I created a new Clean & Simple inspiration card for the Make it Crafty Store Blog.

I've chosen the cute Rudolf Reindeer Digi Stamp for my Christmas card and colored it with Copics. For the background I blended Distress Inks («Mermaid Lagoon» and «Tumbled Glass») and added a couple flicks of water to lift the color in some spots.

Next, I cut a snow hill from white cardstock using the My Favorite Things «Stitched Basic Edges» Die-namics. The German sentiment (which means «Merry Christmas»; Dani Peuss Klartext-Stempel «Warme Grüße») was stamped with VersaFine «Onyx Black».

Finally, I assembled my card and added three chipoard stars and a red gemstone for Rudolf's nose.

I'm joining the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge with the theme Christmas Critters.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT Make it Crafty Inspiration | Halloween Cat

30.10.2016

Hi everyone,

tomorrow is Halloween and although we don't celebrate it here, I created this card using Make it Crafty Digi Stamps.

I chose the cute Black Cat Digi Stamp and combined it with the fun hat from the Halloween Witch Esmeralda in my photo editing software. I colored the image with my Copics and fussy cut it.

For the starry night background, I did some Ink Blending with Distress Inks («Black Soot», «Chipped Sapphire», «Seedless Preserves») and added lots of white paint splatters. Next, I cut a spooky scene from black cardstock using an Impression Obsession die. I also die cut the moon from yellow cardstock (Lawn Fawn «Spooktacular») and did some shading with Copics.

Finally, I white heat embossed the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn «Spooktacular» set and the Mini Stars Chipboard Tinklings, too.

I'm joining the current Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Wednesday Challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great Sunday!

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #46

15.10.2016

Good morning peeps,

today starts the new bastel-traum.ch Challenge with the theme «Autumn/Fall or Halloween».
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until November 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

What I particularly love about this season is the beautiful change of colors in nature. I used the My Favorite Things «Falling Leaves» Die-namics to create a big pile of Distress Ink colored leaves.

For the background I stamped the Simon Says Stamp «Abstract Triangles» with VersaMark and heat embossed them in Gold. Then I die-cut the «Smile Circle» and also a «Stitched Circle» (both dies from Simon Says Stamp) and inlaid them. I popped up this circle with foam tape and stacked all the die-cut leaves underneath.

I gold embossed the birthday sentiment from the «Happy and Smile» stamp set and created a little banner using glitter cardstock. To embellish my card, I added some golden glitter enamel dots by Doodlebug.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
