Hello Bluebird • Silly Birds • Hello! What's Up?

17.03.2019

Good evening peeps,

I made a little inspiration card for Hello Bluebird with the Silly Birds Stamp set. They always crack me up!

I picked two of the birdies, the tree branches as well as the music notes and stamped them in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink on Bristol cardstock. I heat embossed them with clear embossing powder which makes it easier to watercolor the images and stay inside the stamped lines. I colored them with my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens and used the companion dies to cut them out.

For the background, I chose a blue watercolor stripe patterned paper from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio "More Than Words" paper pad. I die cut it with the largest of the Avery Elle "Postage Stamp Dies". To pop up the outside frame, I also die cut it twice from cardstock and stagged the three layers together.

Next, I stamped the sentiments in VersaMark Ink on black cardstock and heat embossed them in white. I used two of the speech bubbles that are included in the Photo Stack Die set and cut them out. Finally, I assembled my card and added some matching enamel dots.

Hello Bluebird • Yeti or Not • Yeti Hugs

21.01.2019

Hi crafty friends,

today I'm back with a card using one of the cuties from the Hello Bluebird  Yeti or Not stamp set which of course isn't only for Christmas. I created a simple love themed card and combined this little guy with a gorgeous patterned paper from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio «More Than Words» 6x6 paper pack.

To match the pretty pastel color scheme, I did some ink blending with Distress Oxides (Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Milled Lavender). I watered down the Worn Lipstick and added some ink splatters with a paint brush. Next, I used the MFT «Pierced Heart STAX» Die-namics to cut out a big heart which I adhered with foam tape letting it slightly hang over the left edge of the card.

For a change, I stamped the image in Memento «London Fog» ink (thought the grey would go better with the soft colors). I colored the yeti with Copics and used the coordinating die to cut him out.

I white heat embossed the sentiment on grey cardstock and used again one of the
«Pierced Heart STAX» Die-namics to die cut a smaller heart. The yeti and sentiment heart were adhered with foam tape. To finish the card, I added two Doodlebug Tiny Heart Sprinkles.

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge #67

15.07.2018

Good morning peeps,

summer is in full swing and we have an easy new challenge theme over at the bastel-traum.ch blog«Anything Goes».
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/
This challenge will run until August 15th, 8:55 am CET (Central European Time).

For my card, I was totally inspired by the gorgeous colors of the Cocoa Vanilla Studio «Bohemian Dream» enamel shapes pack. I think the apricot, aqua and purple go so well together.

I love this cute birdie from the My Favorite Things «Toucan Do It» set and tried some two-tone blending with my Copics. The headband and cuffs are so adorable. I fussy cut the image with scissors leaving a small white border.

For the background, I did some faded ink blending using the MFT «Geometric Grid» stencil and aqua ink colors. I die cut the panel with the second largest «A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX 1» Die-namics and adhered it to a «Grapesicle» card base.

I white heat embossed the sentiment onto «Steel Grey» cardstock and cut it with one of the «Stitched Sentiment Strips» Die-namics. I popped up the banner and bird with foam squares and adhered the matching enamel dots.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Stay tuned for my second blog post!

Memory Box Drifting Side Butterfly • Infinitely Grateful

18.05.2018

Hello everyone,

it's no secret that I love butterflies ;-) So of course, I had to have the Memory Box «Drifting Side Butterfly». It comes with two dies – a solid and an intricate outline one.

This is the simple card that I made:

For the solid part, I used a blue leftover Alcohol Ink piece and cut the intricate outline from silver cardstock. I die cut the chevron patterned paper (Cocoa Vanilla Studio «More Than Words») with the largest of the My Favorite Things «Stitched Wonky Rectangle STAX» Die-namics. Next, I did some random splatters with «Blueprint Sketch» Distress Oxide Ink.

The sentiment is from the MFT «Geometric Greenery» set and I white heat embossed it on a banner. Therefore, I used «Steel Grey» cardstock and one of the «Stitched Sentiment Strips» Die-namics, both by MFT, too. Finally, I popped up the butterfly and banner with foam tape.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!
